    - Good Brew Tour
    Sunday: Breweries
    Labatt Brewery image
Happened upon this while traveling through Canada and thought why not? We have been to Millers and Coors which are very polished tours in the U.S. This tour was much more down to earth. The guide was very knowledgeable even though it was her first tour. Loved seeing the bottling process. Interesting to note that they reuse all beer bottles putting them through a washing process. The U.S. can learn something here. The sampling was good. Didn't sample Artois but did a Shocktop instead. Great tour just know that there is a charge of $16 per adult and $6 for kids. Didn't know that but wouldn't have cared either way. See more..

    - New Brickhouse Brewpub by Upper Thames Brewery
    Breweries
    Upper Thames Brewing Company image
The Upper Thames Brewing Company (UTBC) opened a second location called the Brickhouse Brewpub some 3 or 4 months ago. It has 24 craft beers on tap while I believe the original brewery and taproom has 15 or so. The first 12 taps are their own beers (6 UTBC core beers and 6 seasonal spring one-offs) while the other 12 are rotating Ontario craft beers. Their website lists them all plus what is rotating in which is a nice feature. This location serves pub food and is good quality. I have had the Brickhouse burger as well as the tacos and both were excellent. The beer was very good and made at their brewery in town. Not sure if they plan to brew here as well but do have static brewing equipment for viewing. The staff was knowledgeable. Be aware you do have to go and order your beer and food up at the bar so you aren’t waiting at a table. Cheers! See more..

My husband and I visited for his birthday last month and we really enjoyed their beer. We really enjoyed the Harbour Front Hefeweizen and the Port Side Pilsner, but they have a dark beer, some IPA's, and an Amber lager too, so something for everyone. Service was friendly. You can sit inside or out of the patio overlooking the street. The brewery is basically narrow with a couple floors, and hopefully you can do stairs because the washroom is up on the second floor. We came pretty early and so didn't eat anything, but we will definitely be back for food and more beer very soon! See more..

We stopped off at the brewery as the road sign mentioned tours on Saturdays. They gladly welcomed us in with a younger child and offered our son gingerale as we sampled many beers they produce. The tour guides were very hospitable and knowlageable of the beers brewed on site. Many people came in with young children and it was a real nice setting. The staff was also excited to reference the many beer festivals and other breweries nearby. It was really great for my son to see the equipment used to make beer as well as the canning process. For $5 entrance fee you get a lot of samples plus a mug to enjoy. An excellent tour to get familiar with the many beers they make so you can purchase wisely next time you visit or at a pub or the LCBO!! See more..

    MacKinnon Brothers Brewing Co. image
Bound by brotherhood. Brewed by tradition. MacKinnon Brothers Brewing Co. is located on a bicentennial family farm, just outside of Kingston, Ontario. With over 200 years of farming heritage behind us, we use the hops, wheat, and barley grown right here on our farm to brew beer which is emboldened with the unique character of rural Canada. We do this so beer patrons everywhere can share in the taste and tradition of our farm. Our ancestors settled in Upper Canada in 1784, and through the generations, built a thriving farm. We decided to add another element into the mix: a farm-based brewery. We’ve renovated century-old barns to house the equipment, and planted hops and malting barley in the surrounding fields. The character and history of this place shines through in every glass. See more..

Ever since I found this place, I can’t stop coming in when I drive through the area. Lots of great brews and always changing seasonals. Friendly and knowledgeable staff to boot. Wish I’d been there a few days later to get their pumpkin habanero beer in a can, but at least I got a taster! See more..

We're from Kingston and often tour Prince Edward Country with its winneries, cider and craft brewers. So when my sister Lisa recommended Quayles and mentioned it was like a visit to PEC she was so right. It's a beautiful setting with hop gardens, a modern barn/brewery building, large patio and the charm of an on site food truck. I enjoyed a flight of beers while my wife had a light lager. We shared the Hawaiian pork bao's and Korean crispy chicken, both were delicious and resonably priced. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. Everyone at Quayles was so helpful in making our fathers 90th bithday celebration very special. See more..
