4.5The Thornbury Harbour(93 reviews) - Great small town vibe with interesting destinations around the area. Marinas
Stayed at the Royal Harbour Resort right across from the marina. A lovely spot for walking with downtown nearby. Lots of trendy chops and eateries in town and the very close by town of Clarksburg. The Royal Harbour Resort with appointed stidio and two bedroom suites has a nice pool and hot tub, as well as an exercise room. Staff are very helpful however rentals are sometimes hard to come by as many of them are timeshared units. Book plenty in advance. The Thornbury Cidery is a great spot to visit for picking up great ciders and also a trendy place to chill with drinks and charcuterie etc.See more..

4.5Heritage Park(49 reviews) - Great waterfront park on Barrie! Marinas • Parks • Gardens
We went to the Dragon Boat races at Heritage Park in August, and were very impressed with the overall park. There were walkways over quaint little bridges, ponds intermingled amongst the greenery with ducks swimming, and clean change houses and washrooms along the beach. Parking was a bit awkward but we managed to find a spot near one of the fabulous eateries with outside patios! Would definitely go back just to spend a quiet afternoon watching the boats, etc. See more..
This is a waterfront park Thunder Bay should be very proud of. The natural beauty of the lakeshore is integrated with meandering paths, gardens, sculpture, art, poetry, benches, shaded picnic tables, waterfall, playground, Tai Chi area, skate board area, slash pad, and more! We spent many hours enjoying the serenity of a park few cities have the initiative, community spirit and creativity to build.See more..

People were actually cheering! In the morning and the afternoon a group of fish conversationalist came and "lifted" the fish swimming in the fish ladder and took measurements and tagged some and also milked some of the eggs in order to hatch and release at other places up stream. It was all very interesting and I was impressed at the size and abundance of trout. I thought is was worth checking out.See more..
