  8. 3.0 The Arthur & Area Community Centre (1 review)
    - Small town Ontario community arena
    Convention Centers
The Arthur & Area Community Centre image
Standard single pad arena in the small town of Arthur, Ontario. Not accessible to any major highways and is almost an hour north of the 401 and almost 40 km west of Orangeville. Nothing really around in terms of food places and I didn’t see a concession stand inside the actual arena. So if you are feeling peckish, you better bring your own food or be prepared to jump back in your car to drive around the countryside looking for something to eat. Benches are on the opposite side of the rink from the changerooms. Weird configuration that forces players to cross the ice/floor to get to their bench. Hallway where the changerooms are is super narrow and would be a challenge for a goalie to walk through in full equipment without having to turn sideways. Definitely an old school arena with no bells or whistles and is really bare bones. Changerooms are just as small and very narrow where you really get up close and personal with your teammates. Not a great arena but okay for a small farming community with a small population to have Houseleague games. Plenty of room in the stands with stadium seating and lots of parking. The building is in the middle of a residential area with nothing really around it other than houses. Definitely not worth the drive and is reminiscent of every other single pad arena around the province. Nothing memorable or special to distinguish it from any other building where hockey or lacrosse is played. See more..
