I've been shopping at the Dublin store since 1971 and over that time, the store keeps getting better and better. In addition to offering groceries, they also sell an amazing variety of jerky, hot chicken, baked items, and beer, wine and liquor. They also have a hardware store attached to the store where they sell everything from nails to plungers. They also do minor screen repair and other hardware services. If the Dublin store doesn't have it, you don't need it! See more..

  8. 5.0 Bayfront Park (42 reviews)
    - A must-stop for rock collectors
    Parks
    Bayfront Park image
This was the best place I found for rock collecting, not even just for Petoskey stones. If your goal is to find a Petoskey stone, I'm sure you'll have your pockets full before you leave. There are apartments/condos or something right along the beach that make it look like private property, but as long as you stay on the rocks and away from the building, you're good. Only thing to beware of is the many dead fish that will be on the rocks nearest to the water (keep your shoes on). I loved this beach so much, I visited on my way to the Upper Peninsula AND on the way back. See more..

    Amazwi Contemporary Art image
I am recently returned from Tanzania where they have an excellent gallery that has pan-African art. Amazwi has a vast collection of things that are of similar or better quality than what I saw in Tanzania, but the prices are considerably better. It is wonderful to see an owner who is committed to helping people learn about global cultures, supporting local artists, and who doesn't fleece everyone in the process. They have amazing stuff there. Highly recommend! See more..

  13. 5.0 Michigan State University Horticultural Gardens (38 reviews)
    - Lovely gardens!
    Gardens
Michigan State University Horticultural Gardens image
The last time I'd walked through these beautiful gardens was over 16 years ago as an MSU student. It is wonderful to see how well they've been taken care of & expanded. Simply beautiful every where you turn! It's amazing that it's free – what a treat! Generally I have an aversion towards parking fees but the measly $2 I paid made me feel like a thief. I'm also not a big fan of kids but I have to say the children's garden is wonderful – very well done! I can't imagine a reason you wouldn't want to come here. I wish I were local – I'd come here all the time. (Btw, I'm pretty sure at least 2 of the photos posted by others are of the Beal Gardens which are also at MSU but closer to the library. Mine are all from the gardens at the address posted on this listing.) See more..

    Pedego Junction Electric Bikes image
This was my first year with a Pedego Electric Bike and I rode more than a thousand miles in a few months. I also encountered lots of bad stretches of roads along the way. Anyone who rides an E bike is going to want an expert mechanic to help us understand how these bikes work and what they need for proper maintenance. You need look no further to find that guy, it’s Greg Krzeminski. I believe he has 10 years of Pedego sales/service experience too. He has Pedego Electric Bikes to rent for fun trips around Harrison Township. See Lake St. Clair and let electricity do most of the work! See more..

  20. 5.0 Crooked Vine Vineyard & Winery (36 reviews)
    - Perfection! This is what a tasting should be!
Wednesday: Spent < 1 hour Wineries & Vineyards
Crooked Vine Vineyard & Winery image
If you are visiting Petoskey and only have time for one tasting this should be your pick. This was exactly what everyone wants from a tasting. The owner told you about the grapes, the wine, the labels on the bottles, the region, and his family history. The building was charming and very functional. We didn't taste anything we didn't like (rare for the area) and walked out with a box. We could look out the window at the grapes. They even had their artwork for the labels on the selection sheet. So happy we found this place. The awards for their wine are well deserved. See more..

    GM Heritage Center image
First, it should be noted that the GM Heritage Center is rarely open to the public. Access is typically only available if you're attending a meeting or special event at the facility. That said, this is one of the most exclusive and unique collection of GM vehicles anywhere in the world. It consists of vehicles from about 1900-present, some production, some racing, some concept, etc. It is a MUST visit for any car buff if given the opportunity. It was take about an hour or two to get through depending on home detailed you want to be. And if you get the opportunity to talk cars with one of the staff, you're even more lucky. These guys are a wealth of vehicle information and history. I've been to the facility twice now, and wouldn't hesitate to go back yet again. See more..

    S. Kamphuis Blueberries image
We were in Holland for a soccer camp on a Monday. We wanted to get blueberries while we were out. I am not very familiar with the area so I googled blueberry farms and S. Kamphuis was closest to where we were. We arrived and it didn't look like they were open so I checked online again and realized that they didn't open for the season until later that week. As I realized that, a gentleman came to my window and I explained we didn't realize they hadn't opened yet. He said "we have blueberries, give me five minutes and we will have some for you". Sure enough, a few minutes later, they were weighing and boxing up our blueberries for us! The blueberries were delicious, the price was great, and the friendly service was amazing. We live about an hour from Holland but will go out of our way to get blueberries here again. See more..

We had a wonderful time on our sunset flight on August 9, 2022! Our captain, Bill, was experienced and friendly. The landing was so smooth! Our chase team was skilled and fun, and even offered recommendations of where to eat in the area. The champagne toast at the end is a wonderful tradition and we loved learning the history about it. The crew make safety their number one priority, so we did need to reschedule one time due to winds. This is to be expected when booking a hot air balloon ride. The staff was really helpful in rescheduling, and it was totally worthwhile! We would love to take another balloon ride with Balloon Quest in the future. See more..

No pets allowed. There is also a tree house that was featured on tv but once you’ve seen it a couple of times, it’s not that exciting. We go mostly to look around the pond. 48. 5.0 Pentamere Winery (26 reviews)
    - A RERUN WHICH WAS WORTH STOPPING AT.
    Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 6:30 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Pentamere Winery image
We reviewed this Winery two years previously but Wineries can change as the Wines they produce. Two years ago one of the owners was made Sake for the first time. Unfortunately at the time, all was sold. This time we tried the Sake ($22/bottle). I enjoyed it, it had a nutty taste and very smooth. Sake is acquired taste and not everyone would like it. As our usual case we tasted dry white and dry reds. The owner made it more interesting by including small food samples before you tasted the wine and after you had a sample and tasted. Amazing difference which help you understand pairings. These pairings are home made - raspberry pepper , riesling wine infused cheese etc. Overall we were please what we we tried and bought several bottles. They also have different vinegars available also. The owner suggested we go to the cheese shop down the block. See more..

Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University image
This is the kind of exhibit that you don't really want to see, but you must. Every adult and teenager should walk through this museum. Each person will be touched in some way by the very large and impressive collection of items that reflect the curse of racism. The displays were very well done. You will feel uncomfortable, you will be reflective, and you will be reminded that everyone can do their part to eradicate racism in all of its shapes and forms. I highly recommend a visit to this museum. See more..
