We visit a few times a year. Blue Sky is one of our favorites! The Tuscany Romance Suite is amazing! Relax by the pond, on the balcony or in the tasting room. The staff members have always been friendly every time we’ve visited. The refrigerator in the suite was stocked with breakfast food and juice. The weather was a bit hot but we still enjoyed our visit. We’ll definitely be backSee more..
2nd year in a row that my daughter and I have ventured out in chilly February weather for an opportunity to relax in their VIP room with 3 wines that are matched with their homemade truffles for her birthday. We need to go more often as truly this is a nice way to celebrate. I like that they have multiple dates to do this event which is centered around a Valentine’s theme. Making this a yearly must-do.See more..

4.5Owl Creek Vineyard(117 reviews) - One of my favorites for sure! Sunday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Wineries & Vineyards
We are a local winery and cidery based out of Cobden, Illinois. All of our wine and cider products are produced and bottled on site using as many local ingredients as we can get our hands on!See more..
We stopped here on the way to Galena. It's take a bit of finding, but the locale and the winery itself are beautiful. The wine tasting was $11 for seven tastes, which is a bit steep and too much of a good thing. I would have gotten better information from fewer tastes. Their wines were pretty typical for the Midwest: they could produce decent sweet wines but not good dry ones. You can get lunch here, but it will be a frozen pizza.See more..
We invite you to visit us year round, taste our award-winning wines and experience all the beauty that southern Illinois has to offer. Since officially opening on July 1st, 2011, the winery has become home to numerous weddings, showers, fundraisers, class reunions, musical performances, and holiday parties. The owners, Wes and Wanda Pitcher want all visitors to “Come as our guests, leave as our friends.” Tuscan Hills Winery provides an old-world Tuscan feel in the heart of Effingham, Illinois. We are particularly focused on offering exceptional quality wines and providing a comfortable, home-like atmosphere for all ages. We are family and pet friendly. All of our wines are made right here at the winery. However, if wine isn’t the drink for you, we also offer a full bar, wine-slushies, and sangrias. We offer wine tastings daily. If you’re hitting the Southern Illinois wine trail, you have to hit Von Jakob. They have many delicious wines, with many sweet options. They also have slushes and a full food menu. Go on a day when it’s beautiful outside. You won’t regret the views. I ordered fish tacos, the Johnny Apple and Ridge Red sweet wines. Go! See more..
4.5Massbach Ridge Winery(79 reviews) - Helpful and friendly staff Sunday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
This place is off the normal route, but the roads were fun being in the Driftless area with all the curves, making for a fun drive coming from a few miles west of Stockton. Sarah B. was very helpful with everyone even when a tour bus came in, she found time to help everyone. She also took time to visit and recommend certain wines which we tasted and bought a few bottles to take home. We spent about 2 hr there and enjoyed the relaxing time with the good views and peaceful surroundings. Bruno-Uusto Cheese and crackers along with some wine makes for a good afternoon.See more..

3.5Aerie's Winery(57 reviews) - Disappointing service and food Wineries & Vineyards
I tried to send them a private message. The aerial ride up and down, and the views are perfect. The food and the service, need some work. I ordered food upstairs and sat inside, facing the bar. A waitress brought the bartender a glass of wine from outside, which had a bee/wasp/fly or something else. The bartender used a straw to fish it out, then poured out about an inch and a half of the wine, topped off the original glass of wine and sent it back outside! We all know Aeries makes enough money to give your customer a fresh glass og wine. We had ordered food by then and got uncomfortable about what we were about to ear. My spinach salad (with additional salmon for $5) was no better. There was hardly any cheese and the salmon was shredded. It looked cheap for what we paid. But, I know life goes on for them as they are a big operation and will always have a crowd.See more..

There is no better way to experience wine than right here from the source. After a tasting, you can enjoy a glass or bottle of wine, craft beer or soda, plus local cheeses while browsing the gift shop, quizzing the wino staff, or just relaxing inside or outdoors. Guests may bring a picnic & take advantage of the board games in the tasting room. We love to show our friends the winery and talk about the wine making process. Private tours & tastings are available for large and small groups, ranging from $5 to $15 per person. Sleepy Creek is a great destination to meet friends and socialize. We feature live music by original singers and songwriters, comedy, film festivals, plays & other unique entertainment. Sleepy Creek now hosts a B & W: Its like a Bed and Breakfast, but the only thing we make here is Wine, but there is a full kitchen to make what you want, when you want, and we provide the wine. Stop in to give it a look-it's a great place to have friends and family stay when you "just can't fit them" in your house.See more..
3.0Copper Dock Winery(49 reviews) - Use Caution Sunday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
My girlfriends and I went to this winery for a fun "girls day" and were very disappointed in the service. It was about 45 minutes away from where we live, but wanted to check it out. We got to the winery and decided to sit outside. The bees were horrible, so we had our waiter light the fire pit that was in the center of our table that is ran from propane gas. We noticed that the other two tables next to us had their fire pits going, so we thought maybe it would help. About 20 minutes later, the owner, who was a female, came over to hand us coasters for our drinks. She said, "Why do we have the fire pit going, ladies?" I am assuming she was asking this because it was a rather warm day, so we explained to her that we thought it would help with the bees. She said, "Well, you know I have to pay for that. So let me know when you are finished." Our jaws dropped! We had a table full of drinks and food, and she had the nerve to ask us why we had the fire pit going. The service itself was not the best. We were very offended that she said this to us. She also went over to another table..who also had their fire pit lit...and did not say a word to them!!! We were paying customers, and I can guarantee that the money we spent there was more than enough to cover the propane that was used to light the fire pit at our table. I will not be going back to this winery. They seem very cheap!!!! If you don't want the fire pits lit, then don't put them at your tables!!!!!See more..

3.0Hidden Lake Winery(34 reviews) - Will Not Go Back Spent < 1 hour Wineries & Vineyards
Planned on ordering a bottle of wine. Needed to taste to know what we liked. Charged a $1.00 for every taste. What a gimmick! Why would you buy a bottle of wine for $20 when you have no idea if you like it or not. Every place I have been to before would at least give you a small taste before you bought. Food prices our very high also.See more..
Feather Hills Vineyard & Winery began its roots in 1988 when their first vines were planted. Over two decades later the grapes are still flourishing. Feather Hills is located on one of southern Illinois' highest ridge tops, deep in the heart of the Shawnee Hills A.V.A. After years of practice and experimentation in wine making, Feather Hills began releasing wines to the the public in 2001 as Orlandini Vineyard. The property changed hands to the Feathers in 2017 and changed names in 2018. The same values and wines continue with novices and connoisseurs enjoying our hand tended vintages.See more..

4.5Walker Bluff Winery(27 reviews) - Don’t miss this one! Gorgeous winery not shown on southern Illinois wine trail. Sunday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
Just north east of Carbondale is this gorgeous unique winery. Truly impressive in comparison to the wineries shown on the Southern Illinois wine trail. My guess is Walker’s Bluff isn’t on the list probably due to its location. I think their wine is on dry side but a nice Rose’ was suggested for me and it suited me as a semi sweet. They had music on the evening I went to have dinner. Service was good. Food was slow to come but delicious. I wasn’t expecting this to be a fast food place and enjoyed the atmosphere/music while I waited. BIG suggestion not to miss! Ask if you can walk in the back to see the wine cave they built. Weddings are held there and you’ll also discover an area with a circular table for private wine tasting. If you drive around back of the winery you’ll see the “Down the Rabbit Hole” entrance to the cave. Go and explore Walker’s Bluff for yourself!See more..

5.0Willow Ridge Winery(22 reviews) - Great place to visit Sunday: 12:00 PM - 5:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
This is a great winery to check out. First of all trip adviser has it located incorrectly. It is on 1800n in westervelt, which is a very small township northwest of Shelbyville Illinois. The address is label Shelbyville still. Which makes this place great! Its out in the middle of nowhere with its on vinyard which you can wonder through down to the small pond. Now as for the wine, there is something for everyone, from sweet to dry, red and white. Its all made right there onsite. The winemaster Louie and Tina are great and they take pride in what they do. They also host murder mystery dinners, and have live music on weekends. I'm telling you they try hard to please the customer, and you 'll feel like you found something special that no one else knows about. They do have their own web site which tells you dates of entertainment and has their wines listed. I'm ready to go back just making this review, lol!See more..

We chose to visit because 1. We haven't been there and 2. It had outdoor seating, important to us during COVID-19. It is located in a beautiful countryside just outside the city of Rockford. Our service was prompt and friendly by servers wearing masks. No indoor seating is available at the current time. The wine was excellent and although we thought it might be on the sweeter side, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that wasn't the case. Our favorite was a white called Reliance. The winery appear to have a vigorous curbside pick up business as well as wine slushies. We saw lots of those! This is not a one time stop for us. We will be back. Can't wait to see it in the fall!See more..

Stayed in the cabin at the winery. Boondock cabins. Clean comfortable and quiet up on the hill behind the winery. Winery was open until 5 and restaurant is open on the weekends. There was also a couple camping there and we met them at the winery. Members of Harvest Hosts Camping Group. This winery was a member which I didn't know. Future reference item for return visit. Makes his own wine too. Bought several local kinds and some for gifts. This prallels the Tunnel Hill Bike Trail also. Trailhead is about 1/4 mile directly north of the winery past the church. The owner gave us directions. Had no idea it was so close. We rode all the way through Belknap and Karnak. Later rode north to Vienna. This was great as we took our bikes. 5.0Wild Pickins Winery(13 reviews) - Nice place to relax Wineries & Vineyards
We stopped in here on our way to wineries near Grafton. We had heard about the place but had never tried it. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The owner, Todd, introduced himself and told us about his place and his future expansion plans. This place is truly a hidden gem. We ordered food from the grill and it was delicious and well prepared. We also tried some wine and sangria, both of which were very good. We will definitely be back when we have more time to relax and listen to the live music they have there on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays according to the owner.See more..
