  2. 4.5 John Brown's on the Square (19 reviews)
    - Didn't feel like an outsider at this local gem
    Saturday: 2:00 PM - 1:00 AM Concerts • Bars & Clubs
John Brown's on the Square image
My 2 sisters and I were staying over in Marion on the way to Tennessee from Wisconsin . We went to this bar on the city's square after searching online for a place to get some adult refreshments. It stood out to us because it claims to have over 100 beers from which to choose. We've been to bars in smaller towns before and expected to be stared at as outsiders by locals. Instead, we were greeted warmly by the bartender/manager and one of the patrons who we quicky found out was ownerJohn Brown himself. The bartender was very helpful in suggesting beers for our individual tastes. John is a musician and told us he has various bands play there regularly while he manages the sound. This is just a laid back place. Nothing fancy about the space itself, but the people were friendly, and we were comfortable in staying for more than one beer. This is a placeto which I would reurn if I lived in town or was again passing through. See more..
