I visited Crystal Lake Brewing on a Monday afternoon (one of the rare breweries open on Mondays). I was glad to find that they had plenty of outdoor seating available which was helpful during the current covid times. I was here basically just for beer tasting, so food being not available at this place was not a concern for me. They welcome customers to order or bring food in. They have a diverse variety of beer offerings, and I had a Taster Flight of four beers. Their Oktoberfest and the Milk Stout were excellent. They also offer beers (crowlers, growlers, cans) to go. During regular times, they appear to be a popular gathering place. Crystal Lake Brewing is surely worth a stop for their tasty craft beers. I really enjoyed my visit here.See more..

We went to Shoeless Joe's Ale House & Grille to watch the last game of the Cavaliers and the Warriors. Interestingly, there is a lot of old White Sox memorabilia. Did I say that there were a lot of TVs? I counted about 30, at least. Some of the booths had two TVs, one aimed at each side of the booth. There is plenty of parking. We sat beneath an awning at the front of the place that was shaded enough to escape the afternoon sun. The server took our order and sampled our drinks. Short of twenty minutes, the food came. Mikerphone Brewing is definitely worth a trip. Its tucked on the back road off Higgins rd but easy to find. It struck us with good vibe and atmosphere and the selection of beers were awesome. The bartender was very helpful in suggesting beers for our individual tastes. John is a musician and told us he has various bands play there regularly while he manages the sound. This is just a laid back place. Nothing fancy about the space itself, but the people were friendly, and we were comfortable in staying for more than one beer. I love the thin crust and there is something especially good about the sauce that I just can't put my finger on. The toppings are always fresh and plentiful.
