Lazy summer days on the cottage's porch!
They serve popcorn while you wait for your meal. I enjoy sitting on the Cottage's deck and enjoying the summer breeze while waiting for one of their tasty hamburgers. They have other delicious items, but my favorite is the hamburger. Parking is next door or on the street. There's a big oak tree for shade. They have a bar inside and tables if you prefer air conditioned seating. It's a nice casual, relaxing place for lunch or dinner.

An Experience
I have only been there during the day, but at night I bet this place goes buck mental!!! Located in downtown Crystal Lake, it has a huge outdoor patio which would be good in decent weather...the inside is dive bar city - it is very typical of the midwestern bar/grills you used to see a lot more of 30 years ago (before so many were replaced with disgusting chains)... This place has at least one decent size indoor bars...the seating is ample and the staff always brings you free popcorn and peanuts which is nice. The food is varied, burgers, pizza, wings, probably some burritos and soup thrown in - something for everyone...the food is good and reasonably priced. The drink selection is pretty good as well... I could see going here with friends, the family after a kids soccer game...bringing grandma here for pizza late on a Sunday afternoon....or....more likely, showing up here at 11 PM on a Saturday night and getting heartily wasted...I have never been here at night, but it seems like the place would be heaving with party people...still, worth a visit...in fact, maybe even more worth the visit for the entertainment factor..

Nice time...
First time visit last night with family and had a nice time. Food was fair, about what I had expected from previous reviews. Many in our group had the prime rib special. The prime rib itself was excellent but the sides were fair at best with a couple of comments from the group stating they tasted "off". Others had the pizza, which again I rate as just ok. I would have liked to rate it higher but the crust was odd. I think it was a premade, manufactured crust that really spoiled the whole pizza in my view. Service was fine, a little slow but it was very busy and we had a large group. All in all, if I was in the area I would go back, but I would not hurry back.
