2 story mall with food court and various stores. Great for a hot day. Sad to see that the old train was taken out and replaced with a kids playground area. It is dog friendly which I was super excited about. Please make sure to follow rules and go to the website for more details. Dogs must be well behaved, potty trained, and non-aggressive towards other dogs and people. Dogs are NOT ALLOWED in the food court area. Each store is labeled if dogs are allowed or not. Does have escalators and elevators. Plenty of grassy spots outside. Very enjoyable! I was able to visit stores I hadn't been to before. It wasn't too crowded. I had a great time here on a rainy day last month. There's something for everyone. Although it was very quiet and not a lot of staff, people were very helpful and knowledgeable. The shop I first entered downstairs had stuff of variable quality and so jampacked that you didn't need assistance but it looked like there were some really cool things there. Sports stuff, old tech, many things. I didn't see all the downstairs shops. Upstairs I visited a spacious huge section with individual seller's nooks selling antiques, including a lot of kitchen furnishings ( my interest) which were nicely displayed.Also antique postcards and many other treasures. I was told exactly where to look for what I was looking for and found it! There is a fast food Mexican restaurant( Hector's) on the first floor which is clearly very popular, but my chicken taco was prepared without flavor , and the salsa I then bought to improve it was also disappointing. My wife & I were visiting family in the area, and we spent a couple of hours on a sunny Saturday at The Glen strolling through the annual summertime art fair in the central corridor of this outdoor shopping center. The vendors in their rows of tents were plentiful with lots of variety (paintings, photography, sculptural pieces, jewelry, handmade furnishings, health & beauty products among other items). The outdoor mall space was clean & attractive, with well maintained & colorful plantings throughout. There is free parking streetside & in a centrally located garage. The retail shops are largely high-end product sellers, and there are several dining & drinking options to satisfy most appetites & budgets. The Glen is an excellent destination for the whole family to enjoy for shopping & dining & scheduled cultural events.See more..

It is very sad to see the mall empty. Locals here do not support the mall. They continue to shop at Woodfield or Old Orchard. This mall used to have most of the brand names, now only a few continue the loyalty and have stuck around. This mall is in a very heavy traffic area but unfortunately sees very little business. Thanks to online shopping and neighbors who don't visit, all the small businesses/vendors within this mall will probably face total shut down soon. The stores are still open (mostly). There's a Gloria Jean's inside in you want a coffee, and you can go clothing shopping. You won't find all of the typical mall stores inside, but there are a few (Old Navy, JC Penney, Macy's, Hot Topic, Maurices, Journey's, Victoria's Secret, Buckle... a few more as well). I'm a big fan of Old Navy's activewear, so I tend to stop by the University Mall about once a month. The facility, including the bathrooms, is kept clean. It's somewhat quiet. If it's a cold day, and you want to go for a walk, you probably won't be the only one there walking the halls for a little exercise. You can walk around and/or buy stuff. This open-air mall opened to public fifteen years ago, and it was very successful and attractive to both the local public and tourists. Located at the northern part of Peoria, it has variety of nice shops (from upscale to discount), ample parking , and it used to have several restaurants, until some of those moved out to other 'pastures'. This, and some other economic factors (online shopping, for one) influenced this mall. But now the mall is very busy, especially on weekends, stores offer nice deals (discounts, coupons, etc). There aren't that many stores here; when Burlington was still one of the stores we used to buy our coats and jackets there, and the cleaner across the street does a better job at tailoring than the cleaner here. The biggest draw for us here is the Walgreens on the corner. This is the only shopping center I've seen with so many restaurants--the best selection of food I've seen! And we've trued a few of the restaurants (Honey Baked Ham, Sushi 4 U, Pizza Hut) and have enjoyed them all. The only stores we've tried there was Aldi and the cleaner/tailor which are both good, although there are other stores we haven't tried yet. With a Mobil gas station on the corner, this is definitely a shopping center where we can fill a lot of needs.See more..
