Great ballpark with excellent food, drink and atmosphere. The Rockford Riverhawks are part of the Frontier League. I took my children there and they loved it! They have a steam train just outside the park offering rides for the children. Lots of games and entertainment inbetween innings. We came to the Mountain View Adventure Center when my grandson was playing in Little League. Besides the miniature golf and the skateboard park, they also offer batting cages. There are actually 6 different batting cages: Cage 1 • Medium Baseball 45–55 m.p.h.; Cage 2 • Slow Baseball: 25–30 m.p.h. or Medium Softball: 50 m.p.h.; Cage 3 • Slow Baseball 25–30 m.p.h.; Cage 4 • Fast Baseball 55–60 m.p.h.; Cage 5 • Very Fast Baseball 70–80 m.p.h. or Hi-Arc Softball; Cage 6 • Slow Softball 35–40 m.p.h. You buy the tokens at the ticket office for the batting cages. Each token will get you 16 pitches. You can save money if you buy more tokens, i.e. 6 tokens for $5; 13 tokens for $10; 28 tokens for $20. They also have various sized bats and helmets. We tried this rink with a groupon, and it turned out to be a nice experience, we will definitely go back. They offer plenty of public skate times, great snack bar, hockey pro shop, professional rink guards, decent Riedell skates for rental; The only con was that there was no seating in the actual rink area on the rubber floor to allow patrons to put on skates, and not enough seating in the lobby (which is huge, by the way) for everyone. I was not sure what to expect from Airsoft X in Peoria, Illinois. A couple of friends an I went out to the indoor field on a Saturday for open games. Short story is that this is the best airsoft field in the Mid West. They have a sweet CQB area, a shooting range and a huge indoor field with tons of obstacles. They had us playing all kinds of new games. They used low-light, sound effects and smoke. We will be there again very soon.See more..

5.0Cermak Family Aquatic Center(1 review) - Clean and Well Kept Water park/Splash pad for Younger Children Spent More than 3 hours Sports Complexes This is an activity pool/splash pad for younger children. Teens may enjoy the lazy river, but the main pool has a slide and climbing tower,etc. and is not more than 2' deep. There is also a splash pad area. Lifeguards are attentive, staff is all very friendly and this park is well-maintained and monitored. You cannot bring in outside food (just water) but there are places in the immediate area around the pool to eat. Also, there's a snack stand that is reasonable inside the pool. There are clean changing rooms and showers. During safety breaks in the pool and lazy river, kids can still play in the splash pad. (FYI Lazy river is small, not equivalent to a regular water park. This is a condensed area, which is great when you are monitoring small children) $6 for adults, $4 for children 3+ when we went in August 2015.See more..

3.0Axeplosion Orland Park(1 review) - Something different to do Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes This is an Axe throwing facility. Unfortunately the building is way to small for the activity. The sections are right next to each other and are only separated by a fence. Their is no where for the people to stand while watching others in your party throw. The wood that you throw at is never changed, therefore the axes fall to the ground, because the wood is so cut up. They need to replace the boards periodically. It was continuously busy because it is something different to do. If they don't make some changes, I don't think people will go a second time. It is a cool concept, but their is no room for people to stand. You have to keep moving to allow people to pass by to get to the sections near the back. It is really annoying when the place is full. Found this place purely by accident. Was looking for a Go-Kart place near my home and stumbled upon it online. Looked pretty nice so we went to check it out. Located near the intersection of Rt 30 and Rt 34 near Montgomery/Aurora, IL. Went there primarily for the Go Karts, but we also played a round of mini-golf, as they had a combo deal where you saved a buck or two. Nice looking mini-golf course with colored water cascading down rocks. The course was set on a hill. Go-Karts were also very fun, with single and double karts. Each ride was 5 minutes and the karts were fairly fast IMO. There were also batting cages, which seemed pretty fast pitch, so younger kids probably would have trouble with the speed. They also have a snack area with tables and they sell snacks too. Overall, a nice time doing something different with my daughter.See more..
