Lenz Field & Sports Complex, Illinois, United States

4.0 (5 reviews) Spent More than 3 hours Ranking #5 in Jacksonville Sports Complexes

Baseball tournament

Fairly new complex. Fields were AstroTurf. Concession stand located in middle of complex. Parking lot was not very close to playing field, so would recommend something to carry chairs, etc. in to get to fields.

    Enjoyable Cold Games
We went to a double header here to watch our nephew play a college baseball game. It was a low level college game. This park was a midway point for both teams. The field seemed to be kept up well. It is surprising to see this nice of a facility in a town the size of Jacksonville. There is an entry fee charged to enter the facility, but it was nominal ($5 per person). Overall this was a good place to watch some games. Come prepared it is a wind swept area so it can be uncomfortable if the weather is bad. There are no wind breaks to hide behind.

Average Turf Baseball Complex (NO VERIZON INTERNET PHONE SERVICE)
Lenz field is a popular baseball complex in Jacksonville with many tournaments. Parking is tight, with deep, rock lined ditches between parking areas. I was surprised to see that they charge $ 5 per person to get in the complex. Facilities are average, with turf fields. Teams need to supply a score board operator. Concessions are average quality, with average prices. Everyone I talked to, including myself seemed to be surprised that they had zero internet service on the cell phones, and we all had Verizon. Bathrooms were dirty, and I dont believe the bathroom trash can was taken out all day on either of the days we were there. One would think that for the surprisingly high gate fee of $ 5 that there would have at least been free WIFI. The Lenz website does offer to let you view games on their website for a small fee.
