    Fun place to spend a Saturday night. Facilities need to be updated. They charge $3 for the racing program. Bets can be placed at a window or via a machine. Parking is free. If you use Google maps and put in Fandual it will take you to the wrong gate. Instead put in Fairmont park. See more..

    We had an awesome time with friends. The racetrack has beautifully maintained grounds. We enjoyed going down to the Paddocks to get a first look at the horses. We would then place a bet and then go down to the rail to watch the race. We love being close to the track when the horses run past the finish line. It’s so exciting when the horse you choose Wins!!!! After the race, we love watching the jockey in the Winner circle and then watching him give goggles to a very excited spectator. We enjoyed having lunch upstairs overlooking the Paddock. Thanks Arlington Racetrack for the wonderful memories of watching such beautiful and fast horses. Amazing experience. See more..

    I love horseracing but Hawthorne is a prime example of the struggle US tracks face when local laws do not allow for slot machines and more modern forms of gambling. If I am honest the place is not far from falling apart and if you want to stand outside the view of the first couple of furlongs is obstructed by the number board building to the infield. Many of the locals seemed colourful characters but all the staff were very friendly and any tourists etc will feel perfectly safe. It's not a luxury location but it's only $2 admission and the racing was competitive, please do not let yet another US track become just a memory. See more..
