We did the full moon guided tour on Oct 9th and had a great time! The water was really low, and it made it challenging to get the kayaks thru in one section, but the moon rising over the cypress trees made it all worth it. There were several people who showed up for the tour. A large family - 14 of them, and about 10 others including my husband and I, so we were separated into two groups so each group could have their own personal guide. Mark, our guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We not only got to see the moon rising ahead of us, but we could also see the sun setting behind us, all in the same tour! I was in a bind, failed impeller the day before a big bass tournament. I showed up mid day on a Friday in a desperate state. They found the parts, made time to fit me in given my predicament. They were all understanding, courteous, and went out of their way to help me. Every person, including the owner, office manager, and two mechanics were so friendly. Nice lake in the Chicago burbs, good for fishing, boating, canoeing, paddleboarding and kayaking. Also good for picnicking. Free to launch your own or you can rent by the hour at the boating center. Not a very peaceful retreat as it's up against 2 busy roads and sits under the midway airport glidepath. But it a great lake to learn boating on as it's not that deep. It's well overfished as most urban lakes are so good luck. No gas motors allowed here. See more..

we came so late, we wished that time would be longer- specially on the weekend. For local "to do" we actually enjoyed this sisters mini adventure before our dinner. Rental fees decent for an hour is $15, water is calm and a lot of wild life to see. See more..

I went through Wet n Wild outfitters 2 years ago for their ice fishing experience. The guides had everything set up for us, rods, seats. And shelter (it was warm enough to not need heaters). All we had to do was bring our cooler, a grill and some snacks. Every person in our group caught at least 1 fish either in the clam or out in the open. Wet n Wild definitely knows what they're talking about when I comes to fishing. See more..
