Tour is a must and are offered at 10am, 1pm and 3pm daily. Very friendly and helpful staff and volunteers. Knowledgeable, professional guide. Beautiful part of the US. Would like to come again to spend some time in this historic area. See more..

Went to lock #16 and had a fantastic tour. This is the first lock built on the Mississippi River. The tour is free and very informative. Interesting to see a boat with many barges going through the canal and the opening of the bridge. Highly recommend. Rating... outstanding. See more..

Dec 26 we saw 3 bald eagles in the trees across from the lock. A squad of pelicans walked on the frozen pond along the driveway to the lock. Beaver lodges studded the pond. See more..
