Even though this is a private property we did not see anyone enforcing anything. What we did see though was a very packed, small parking lot and people taking a few pictures and quickly leaving. Waterfall is pretty! See more..

Typical walk in the woods with a nice waterfall as a bonus, the best this side of Starved Rock. Trail is easy to walk, just watch out for bikers. A tip for non runners. Be sure to park at the lot on Bluff road. It's only a half mile stroll to the falls. Other lots take nine or six miles one way so be warned. See more..

    Little Grand Canyon image
For a friends bachelorette party 8 of us hiked the Little Grand Canyon. There was a major thunderstorm the night before we hiked the trail. The rocks were slick but with trekking poles it was easier than anticipated with the rain. There are steps carved into the canyon where you climb up and down and this helped a lot. This has to be one of my favorite hikes I’ve ever done. The views were so beautiful. I would not bring children or dogs on the trail it would be too difficult. Also, be prepared to get wet. There were spots where the water was ankle to shin deep and we had to cross it. This is an amazing trail, just be safe and know your abilities/limits. See more..

    - Fabulous Little Adventure!

We hiked around here with three 9 year olds. There are two different waterfalls. One is decent size and the other is smaller and wider. The trail is a little rough and steep in places. There are trees that have fallen over parts of it so you do have to climb over these if you want to travel further. Our kids loved climbing up the side of the big waterfall and hopping on stones to get across a creek. See more..

I grew up near Worth . Let me tell you , it USED to be beautiful. Used to have lustrous trees , a waterfall flowing through , people having a picnic on the grass, playing , and people just enjoying the beautiful scenery. Now! No water flows through, garbage overflowing, and and the only one enjoying the scenery are the millions seagulls. What a shame . See more..

    - Very nice waterfall
    Hiking Trails • Waterfalls
Waterfall can be found after a moderate hike lasting approximately 1 hour. One part is not so easy due to descend between rocks, still it's worth to finish the hike to see a beautiful waterfall. See more..

This is the only natural waterfall in northeast Illinois. It’s a small waterfall and easily missed. Should have a small sign. From the Kane County Forest Preserve trailhead lot at 31 and Maclean walk south on the path. The falls is about thirty yards down the path. It a great place to spend sometime outside. See more..
  8. 5.0 Rocky Glen Waterfall (1 review)
    - Hidden Gem, well worth the trip.
Spent 1-2 hours Hiking Trails • Waterfalls
    Rocky Glen Waterfall image
Rocky Glen waterfall is a man-made waterfall but is nevertheless impressive. It was constructed in the 1930’s by the Civilian Conservation Corps on the Saw Mill Creek. The falls is a part of the vast Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, which has multiple access points and parking lots. The nearest parking lot for the falls is the Waterfall parking lot on the east side of the preserve. The fall is about a 0.8 mile hike from this parking lot. The trail is well marked. The falls can also be reached by a steep descent from the beautiful Sawmill Creek Bluff Overlook, which is also about ¾ mile from the parking lot. It was an enjoyable hike to the falls on well paved gravel path. The trail is well shaded through the thick forest. There are also unpaved trails to reach the falls running along the creek if one likes a nature hike through thick vegetation. Rocky Glen waterfall is beautiful place not to be missed. The hike itself is well worth the effort. See more..
