Cousin to the Hollywood Palms cinema in Naperville, this theater is likewise paying homage to the glory of movies past. Not quite as ornate as the Palms it still has plenty of movie posters and props to set the stage so to speak. There's a cool car from the Blues Brothers movie to greet you from the front rooftop. The "Boulevard" inside is plastered with photos of all the great stars both present and past. Each theater, and there are at least eight, has a different theme. Ours was Star Wars, death star included. Unlike the Palms the seating has not be upgraded to recliners and still has the less comfortable desk chairs. Dining and a full bar is part of the deal. I had the Santa Monica shrimp and fries and it was very good. My wife had the chicken fingers and they were a bit dry. Service was decent although a call button would be handy. Great place to go with the family or even a date night. We use the AMC app and choose our seats on the go. When we get there we are able to scan right in and then pop over some treats and popcorn. Such a fabulous theater in every respect! The popcorn is made fresh and served hot. I like to get the bucket that I buy at the beginning of the year for a special price, that you can have refills just for a few dollars. 1st off a storm came thru with torrential downpours. Suffered a brown out during the afternoon. Power came back after 1/2 hr. Boys saw Annabelle while I snuck away to the Avengers! Theater is huge, nice modern clean theater with recliners!! Boys of course indulged at concession stand, popcorn was fresh (exclude fake butter). A/c worked well some made need a sweater!! The Village Crossing AMC is our usual theatre, as it is close to home and there are usually a lot of choices in movies of all genres. Though there is food inside from the concession stand, there are also more than a few restaurants in the immediate area if you want to have dinner and a movie. The theatre is well-maintained and clean, including the restrooms, which are well placed. We were in auditorium #6 and though the seats don’t recline, they are comfortable. We came for the movie “Midway” at a matinee performance. The movie, sort of a remake of the 1976 version with Henry Fonda, was very good. Naturally, the special effects have improved and with the new CGI technology so this version does reap the benefits of modern technology. Remember, you may want to plan on coming on Tuesdays, as the admission is a bit more reasonable.See more..

My seat would not recline thus making it uncomfortable to sit. There was a service dog behind us that whined throughout the movie. Although, I am all for service dogs, I did not care for the noisy dog. And, I know Fandango charges a service fee, but I didn't know if I could use my code at the ticket office or not, so I reserved our seats in advance. The volume is played on your car's FM radio or if you're afraid of running your car battery down, bring a portable FM stereo. Times vary so check the website for show options and times - the shows usually begin at dark. If you go before 4 pm you get a discount over the evening price and during the week, I believe Monday-Thursday the matinee price is only $6!. With the rewards card you get special offers, add up points for discounts on tickets and concessions, and order tickets online without an extra fee. You pick your exact seats on the app and can also see how many others reserved in advance. The theaters and bathrooms are always clean. The only negative I've ever experienced is that they don't staff the concessions very well. You can get 'real food' during certain hours of the day but there may be a wait while it is prepared so come early. Concession prices are similar to most of the other local theaters. My 5 year old granddaughter and I wanted to see "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom", so we chose the Elk Grove Theatre for an afternoon matinee. I must admit that it was way busier than I thought that it would be, probably because of the dinosaurs, the "Incredibles 2" movie and no school. They did have more than adequate staffing, so the waits at the ticket counter or concession stand were not long. The theatre is clean and well-maintained. The prices are more than reasonable. The theater was clean, the service was good, and unlike other theaters the volume level of the movie was actually reasonable (we did not need earplugs like at other theaters that crank the audio so loud that the walls shake). The only problem I had was getting up out of the seat: when I tried to push myself forward from the back rest, it titled back even further and when I tried to pull myself forward on the arm rests, they came up. Luckily we sat right behind the railing so I could pull myself up on that. We also enjoyed the concession stand: very modern with nice features!
