My husband and I had our first NASCAR experience on sept 16th at Chicagoland speedway. We arrived early in the morning, and glad we did. Driving to the track is super easy everything is well marked. Leaving the parking lot afterward is a little more hectic but that is to be expected at any sporting event. Lots of people tailgating make it a fun atmosphere. Once up to gates there is PLENTY for everyone to walk around and have fun stuff to see and do! We had bought pit passes as well which was well worth it this year. We were able to see the cars up close my favorite was th Luke Bryan concert before hand again with the pit passes you were right up close it was great! A big thumbs up to the speedway this year for letting people be down and up close for drivers introductions this made my husbands day. While I was watching concert he stayed behind stage area and ended up getting to stand in one of the guys pit box which is where the drivers entered to get to the staging area. He was in heaven having people like Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and many of the other drivers just inches from him visiting with the crowd and signing autographs before they went to stage!! Only bummer he is a huge Dale jr fan and they ushered him in another way :( When that was all said and done we had seats 43 rows up on start finish line. These seats were perfect you could see the whole track pit boxes and u had the shade from the sky boxes it was great! I must say it was a very fun day and from what I understand a lot of changes were made this year for pit passes and single day tickets things like that. We flew from Ohio to Joliet to take in the NHRA races at Route 66 Raceway, we go to the NHRA races all across the U.S. This was our first time at Chicago...Great stadium style seating, lots of food vendors with a wide variety of choices, ( more than any other race ), super clean track & grounds, also very clean restrooms & lots of them! We spent two days and enjoyed this very fan friendly facility! If you have never been, GO you will be hooked, If you've been to other track and didn't like it, try Route 66 and be impressed with a great setup to see dragracing!See more..
I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband, who is a fan of all cars and of fast driving, but not a big Nascar fan. He loved the ride along, which he said really got his heart pumping because the car never stopped drifting. When he drove himself, he said it was a little annoying with the instructor in his ear telling him to slow down one second and close the gap the next. When he was finally able to pass the slower car in front of him, he really enjoyed himself, but by then, he only had a little more than one lap left. All in all, he understood why the constraints, but it wasn't all it could have been for the price.See more..

Central Illinois is home to one of the best little 1/8th mile drag strips in the country, that being Central Illinois Dragway located on a county blacktop South of Havana, Ills. The track holds regular weekly drag racing events and many other special races including the spring and fall Nostalgia meets. The recent fall event far exceeded our expectations in every way with many quality entries in all classes including gassers, super-stockers, super-shifters, altereds, FE dragsters and even a few nitro burners making passes under in the 3's... 4.0Route 45 Raceway(1 review) - A Fast Dirt track! Auto Racing Tracks Clay County Speedway is an enjoyable time for young to old. The prices of admission are reasonable at $10 per adult. The bleachers are open seating, that sit you well above the track so you can see well from most of the stands. If you come about an hour early you can watch the warm up laps. The races vary depending on the schedule. You can expect Hornets, and Sprint Cars, and Modifieds, and Street Stock to be regular races. Now and then they throw in a Demolition Derby, and Midget Sprints. This is a dirt track, so you can expect to be hit with dirt, depending on where you sit. For the little ones you might want to bring some ear plugs, or buy some at the sales stand. They do have a concession stand, and also a vendor stand where you can purchase race related items such as shirts, hats, and things for the kids. They normally have two heat races per section, then have an intermission where they allow the kids to go down to the track and meet and greet with a group of drivers with their cars. Expect at least 3 hours sometimes more to be spent there, depending on the size of the heats, and how many they have to run. They try to stage cars in the heat races so they move through them as soon as they can. The staff at the track are very friendly. Only recently started making the trip, and enjoying it very much.
