Central Illinois Dragway, Illinois, United States

3.5 (3 reviews) Spent More than 3 hours Ranking #4 in Havana Auto Racing Tracks

Central Illinois Dragway is a top-notch facility... .. .O o-

Central Illinois is home to one of the best little 1/8th mile drag strips in the country, that being Central Illinois Dragway located on a county blacktop South of Havana, Ills. The track holds regular weekly drag racing events and many other special races including the spring and fall Nostalgia meets. The recent fall event far exceeded our expectations in every way with many quality entries in all classes including gassers, super-stockers, super-shifters, altereds, FE dragsters and even a few nitro burners making passes under in the 3's... This event features many wild n' craze long smokey burnouts, huge wheelies and continues exciting racing action. If you liked drag racing the way we did it in the 1960's & 70's you will a blast at this nostalgia race. Bring yer lawn chair and prepare to be entertained... .. .O o- We look forward to attending future events at Central Illinois Dragway, Havana, ILLS. Cya down the road............ ... .. .O o- Carl (BC mayor..=)~

    Tune and test
Went to watch my son tuning his drag car up. Very easy to get to and get up close to the action. Food at the concession stand is very good as well.

    Maybe as a last resort....
Owner and his wife are on a power trip. They have numerous "policies" that I have never seen in all my years of racing. First, if you have a pit vehicle, they require a $10 registration. Second, after obtaining a sponsor who sells engine blankets, all vehicles faster than 7.50 are now required to have an engine blanket. It's their track, and they can make rules if they want, but it would be helpful to outline that on the website. That way people don't drive 2.5 hours just to be turned away at Tech inspection. And if you question why they are imposing rules outside of IHRA Tech rules, they threaten to call the police. I'll stick to Gateway, Bonne Terre, Sikeston, Benton, and Harrisburg.
