enjoyable visit with only one glitch
The theater was clean, the service was good, and unlike other theaters the volume level of the movie was actually reasonable (we did not need earplugs like at other theaters that crank the audio so loud that the walls shake). The only problem I had was getting up out of the seat: when I tried to push myself forward from the back rest, it titled back even further and when I tried to pull myself forward on the arm rests, they came up. Luckily we sat right behind the railing so I could pull myself up on that. We also enjoyed the concession stand: very modern with nice features! (Although we missed the old-fashioned glass counters displaying all of the goodies.

Clean and easy, plus shopping before or after
We came to the AMC Showplace in Niles which is located at the Golf Mill Shopping Center. Entry to the theatre is through the mall, so park close to avoid the shopping or further away to take in some shopping. The auditorium that we were in was clean and comfortable. We were there on discount Tuesday. We saw the movie "1917" which was really good.

Oh, for the reclining seats
I know, when you come to a movie, you're not supposed to fall asleep, but when we came to the AMC Showplace, we were coming to see "Downton Abbey". I was dragged along kicking and screaming, because I never was a fan of the series. Though the seating is stadium-style, they do not have the reclining chairs. They do have the Coca-Cola Freestyle fountain machines which is great for a variety of flavored soft drinks. There is plenty of parking, as the theater is towards the north end of the Golf Mill shopping center.
