Awesome time - beautiful fall sunset and moon rise

We did the full moon guided tour on Oct 9th and had a great time! The water was really low, and it made it challenging to get the kayaks thru in one section, but the moon rising over the cypress trees made it all worth it. There were several people who showed up for the tour. A large family - 14 of them, and about 10 others including my husband and I, so we were separated into two groups so each group could have their own personal guide. Mark, our guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We not only got to see the moon rising ahead of us, but we could also see the sun setting behind us, all in the same tour! We are already talking about doing it again in the spring!

    Perfect Paddle
We loved our canoe tour of the Cache River. Our guide, Megan, was very knowledgeable of the area and wildlife. She was also very accommodating of our poor paddling skills and equally engaged us and our 5 year old. The bald cypress trees were amazing and we saw herons and turtles.

    Sapmoon Moonlight Paddle
We enjoyed the unique opportunity to paddle the lower Cache by moonlight lead by Mark and two of his colleagues. We selected kayaks but several families also chose canoes and seemed to have fun as well. Mark shared information about some of the original inhabitants of the Cache and their traditions as well as information about the trees, plants and animals. He helped identify the different calls we could hear including leopard frogs and a barred owl. Watching the moon rise in the Cypress swamp was magnificent and a fun time was had by ages 10-adult.
