The Shoppes
This open-air mall opened to public fifteen years ago, and it was very successful and attractive to both the local public and tourists. Located at the northern part of Peoria, it has variety of nice shops (from upscale to discount), ample parking , and it used to have several restaurants, until some of those moved out to other 'pastures'. This, and some other economic factors (online shopping, for one) influenced this mall. But now the mall is very busy, especially on weekends, stores offer nice deals (discounts, coupons, etc). Holiday season is just around the corner. The staff of the mall is usually very friendly and helpful.

Nice shoppes
The shops are a nice outdoor mall. There are a decent number of stores and it's a nice area to walk around. Not a bad place to shop.

Grand Prairie Mall : July 2020
The outdoor mall at Grand Prairie (spelled as the Shopps at Grand Prairie) opened in 2002, and since then it has gone through several stages of commercial success and lately, it shows quite a visible economic decline. Several shops either went out of business or moved out, some restaurants relocated to different parts of the city, or to different cities altogether. There are about 30 shops at the mall - from casual to upscale retailers, some specialty shops, discount stores, shops of sporting goods, salons, etc, and only a very small number of restaurants (about 3 or 4). There are not too many customers at the mall nowadays, either. It is really sad, since the mall is very nicely designed along contemporary lines, has excellent outdoor decor and beautiful landscaping, playgrounds for children, rest areas and a very vast parking space all around the mall. I visited the Shopps at Grand Prairie recently - the mall works under new rules of social distancing and mandatory mask regulations, but the whole ambiance there is not too cheerful, to say the least. Hopefully, better economic times are still ahead.
