Extensive collectible collection in great old building

I had a great time here on a rainy day last month. There's something for everyone. Although it was very quiet and not a lot of staff, people were very helpful and knowledgeable. The shop I first entered downstairs had stuff of variable quality and so jampacked that you didn't need assistance but it looked like there were some really cool things there. Sports stuff, old tech, many things. I didn't see all the downstairs shops. Upstairs I visited a spacious huge section with individual seller's nooks selling antiques, including a lot of kitchen furnishings ( my interest) which were nicely displayed. Also antique postcards and many other treasures. I was told exactly where to look for what I was looking for and found it! There is a fast food Mexican restaurant( Hector's) on the first floor which is clearly very popular, but my chicken taco was prepared without flavor , and the salsa I then bought to improve it was also disappointing. Fun stop for browsing for collectibles!

    Historic architecture but limited shopping.
Conover Square is an old piano factory on the Riverfront that was converted into a little shopping center. There is an art gallery and a train museum that have fun exhibits. There is an eclectic mix of merchants on two floors, A couple of antique stores, aromatherapy shop, jewelry, Kitchen supply store, pottery, baskets, and misc others. There isnt much to eat, but the coffee shop has some yummies and makes great coffee to keep your stomach from grumbling. The stores themselves may not be a very big draw for visitors, but its lovely location along the river and historical significance are quite interesting.. Built in 1893, the building is overflowing with history. Brick arches adorn the hallways and the walls are lined with memorabilia from the past. Vintage pianos are on display for viewing and playing. The building could use some upgrading, its looking tired and worn, but Conover Square Its definitely worth an hour of so of your time. There is plenty of parking and a pleasant river view.

Not what it used to be
It used to have cute little shops in it but many of them have left. The last time I was there, there wasn't much to do or see. There is some history on the walls but not much else to do.
