Interesting lunch selections with wine to match

A neat place to visit for lunch or a light snack with selections of wine to complement the meal. sometimes has live entertainment. I have not been there this year due to the Covid19 Pandemic. Last visit mid 2019 in the warm weather.

    A Hidden Gem
Last night we enjoyed a six course meal with paired wine in a bistro setting. That doesn't sound so unusual until you consider we were surrounded by cornfields between Loami and New Berlin, Illinois. It is a family run operation and our hosts, Susan and Doug, were welcoming and friendly. We were offered a tasting of one of their new wines and a between courses tour. Their son, Clayton is the Executive Chef and the food was prepared in an open kitchen, theater style. I enjoyed every dish and particular favorites were the tuna tartar with roasted sesame seeds and garlic crostini and the pan roasted new potatoes. The wine easily exceeded my expectations and was well paired and amply poured. The Syrah was bold and impressive and the reserve cab had an earthy, satisfying bouquet. Simply put, I'll be back.

    Great place, disappointing experience.
We went here for the ABBA tribute band concert. The band was great! This was my first time at the venue. The drink prices were reasonable. The place was very cool and much larger than I was expecting. My only issue was that we paid a premium price for a table and then the people that paid 1/2 as much were allowed to stand directly in front of our table. By directly I mean literally a foot away from us. At times they were bumping against us. The only way we could see the band was to stand up. I just couldn’t believe this was acceptable. I felt like I was ripped off for the extra money we paid. Hopefully the owners will rectify this in the future so others don’t have the disappointing experience we did.
