Grafton Winery The Vineyards, Illinois, United States

Fun Time

The wines at this winery are superb. and the atmosphere is relaxing. The gentleman who waited on us was great. Take the time to travel the extra mile and visit this winery. It is the same wines that are found at the Grafton Winery in downtown Grafton, but everything is more laid back and not so busy. Would defiantly come here again.

    Fun Wine Tasting Experience
This place is located right beside Eckert's Farms which we visited in mid-September. WE knew this place was beside the orchard but did not originally plan to visit. WE are very glad we stopped here after our apple picking expedition. There is not a lot to see and do here. But they do offer a wine tasting for $5 (which is 5 drinks of wine plus you get to keep your wine glass). It is a great way to try their wines. We also picked up a bottle of their wine. We had more fun here than picking apples at the orchard.

    Beautiful setting, good wines
We visited Grafton Winery the Vineyards (off Rt. 3, not in-town Grafton) recently and will go back again. The wines are good - samples are 5 for $5 and you keep the glass - and both the venue and location are beautiful. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed looking at the lake and surrounding scenery. There is also plenty of indoor seating and tables and chairs nearer the lake. Also, there were no crowds & traffic like there are in Grafton. A real plus! Two issues, however: 1)-there is nothing to eat besides pre-packaged crackers (I believe they are going to add food but didn't have it that day although picnic baskets are welcome); and 2)-we followed directions from Garmin and it took us over McClusky and Otterville Roads so we ended up seeing a whole new section of Jersey County! It's actually easy to find.
