We had the best cruise with Captain Nate! We booked the larger boat, but since only 5 people signed up we ended up with the smaller boat. Captain Nate was engaging with everyone, full of knowledge, and made sure my 7 year old daughter (the only kid on the cruise) was having a blast. Nature cooperated as we saw tons of playful dolphins, a herd of wild ponies, various sea birds, crabs, an eagle's nest, and more. We learned about the history of the ponies on the island and the annual swim, saw the lighthouse and the NASA launch site, and spent a great morning on the water. My daughter is already asking to go back! This adventure was well worth the money and I highly recommend sailing with Daisey's and Captain Nate!See more..
5.0Saltwater Pony Tours(1.055 reviews) - Captain Henry for the win! Thursday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Boat Tours • Eco Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Dolphin & Whale Watching • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We took 2 boats out for our party of 9 on July 1st and Captain Henry and Captain Michael made sure we had a great time! We saw gray bottlenose dolphins up close, several different waterfowl feeding on the shell beds, the famous ponies and even a bald eagle perched on a tree! Speaking from my boat, Captain Henry was a friendly, knowledgeable waterman who was able to keep us both informed and entertained during our 2+ hr excursion. He even navigated our pontoon through the winding marshland to make sure we got close enough to take some prime pictures of the ponies that were out. 5 stars all the way around!See more..

We did the sunset group paddle and it was fantastic. There's nothing like seeing this area from the water. The horses moved into the woods before we got across the channel but we learned all about them and the other flora and fauna as well as the history of the area. Our guides were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, helpful, and patient. The whole team was very welcoming. We highly recommend Assateague Adventures.See more..
5.0Up The Bay Pony Tours(251 reviews) - The Best Best Best tour boat captain Boat Tours • Eco Tours • Private Tours • Dolphin & Whale Watching • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Day Trips
Captain Mike is the best - he tailored the tour to our requests and went out of his way to make sure we got up close to some ponies, even in the very low water. His boat is clean and comfortable and his knowledge of the history of the island was amazing. The price for a private tour for the four of us was the same as I would have paid for four individual tickets on one of the other tours.See more..

5.0Raptor Hill Falconry(68 reviews) - Raptor Hill Falconry is Unforgettable Nature & Wildlife Tours
If you ever need to remember what wonder feels like, arrange to spend an evening at Raptor Hill Falconry. I was there yesterday with my husband and two friends, and all four of us will cherish the time we spent with Jennifer and her amazing birds. Jennifer is deeply knowledgeable about falconry, as we learned during the first hour of our visit when she told us about the history of the sport; the differences between hawks, eagles, and owls, on the one hand, and falcons, on the other; and about her innovative training methods. And then she introduced us to Lily, who flew about her territory and came to rest repeatedly on our outstretched arms. The pictures Jennifer took caught the pure wonder on our faces as we watched at such close range a creature of great power and beauty. A visit to Raptor Hill is worth every cent you'll spend for an experience you'll never forget.See more..
4.0Massanutten Adventures(62 reviews) - River fun Thursday: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Sightseeing Tours • Boat Rentals • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Bus Tours
What a wonderful time we had! Staff super nice and got us on the river quickly. We did tubing, it should take hour and half and if we wanted to we could have gone again if we got back by 3. I recommend water shoes of some type, my kids lived without, they sell some there. Also a snack stand there. Wear sunblock, river is wide with little shade. The views are pretty and we had a hawk flying near us most of the time. Such a great day!See more..
Billy is an excellent knowledgeable tour guide. He maneuvered the boat to provide great views of ponies, birds, dolphins (a pleasant surprise) and sunset. He clearly explained how both the VA & MD pony herds are managed. The Cowboy cruise was a highlight of our Chincoteague experience.See more..
Bill & Mary Burnham provide a wonderful experience in kayaking and history as you paddle the tributaries and small beaches of Onancock Creek, VA. Experienced & inexperienced, young & old can enjoy this adventure together. The Burnhams provide it all at their rental shop at the Onancock Wharf. Restaurants are nearby, as are restrooms and ample parking. They also provide other types of kayaking experiences.....paddle to Chatham Vineyards, enjoy a wine tasting, buy some vintages and paddle back down a beautiful secluded creek to your vehicle! Tours through the seaside marshes of the Eastern Shore of Virginia are also highly recommended.See more..
My husband, our two English Pointers and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Rasawek. We hunted for three days and had Crystal, Freda, and Sarah as our guides. I can't say good things enough about the property, the guides, the dogs and the food. They have a well-run business but make everyone feel like family. The birds flew well and the dogs were great. After hunting, we warmed up in the lodge and had the best lunch topped off with the most delicious homemade pies. We will be making this an annual trip.See more..
5.0Chapel Creek Oyster Co(2 reviews) - Must-do when in Mathews VA Nature & Wildlife Tours
Trey's 1/12 hr tour of Mobjack Bay, was full of interesting information about the area and it's extensive history. We appreciated learning about oyster and crab farming and flora & fauna of the Chesapeake Bay. Trey harvested fresh oysters that day for us to sample, and gave us a lesson in oyster shucking. We particularly appreciate that Trey uses the traditional wooden Chesapeake Bay fishing boat for his tour. While most boat captains have switched to fiberglass, the fact that we could experience the tour in this very stable boat designed specifically for oyster & crab fishing the Chesapeake Bay was a real added bonus.See more..
