I did my tandem ride with Steve. He was awesome! Very experienced and very patiently explained everything I could expect. He made certain that I was well informed and comfortable. He repeatedly asked if I had any questions, which I did not because he thoroughly covered all of the necessary information. My boyfriend and I drove out 4 hours from D.C. for this experience and it was everything (more) than we hoped for. They confirmed our reservation by calling prior to our drive out, and promptly set us with instructions and safety gear upon our arrival. This was definitely a bucket list item for my boyfriend, whereas I was a bit more apprehensive for a slight fear of heights. Don, Dallas, and our pilot were so professional and communicative that I really felt instantly safe and at ease. I will never forget this experience and am so grateful to the Virginia Hang Gliding Team for making it so memorable and positive. Would give 10 stars if the limit wasn’t 5.See more..
I booked my zip line adventure over a week in advance. Once the experience was a few days away, the weather was looking questionable. Tyler reached out to offer the chance to reschedule. The adventure was truly amazing. Five zip lines of varying lengths/speeds with beautiful views made for a great time. Tyler was a great guide and extremely knowledgeable. My family and I spent the New Year’s holiday at Massanutten. One of the must dos is the tubing. The hill is not too steep, but enough to give you an excellent ride, either solo or tethered to others. You are permitted to tether up to four tubes for a family ride. Advanced reservations are a must, as these two hour sessions fill quickly. Our session was from 4 to 6pm and was sold out when we checked in for our passes. Note, that after sundown, the tube tracks begin to ice up, making for a faster ride. All in all, everyone had a great time and will be back for more on our next stay.See more..
This was an Extraordinary experience driving this super outfitted jeep through the steep mountain trails, streams and major mud holes to the summit at Reddish Knob for a spectacular view! My husband and I have been married for 50 years and this was one of the most memorable vacation experiences of all time. It challenged us to do things we never did before... and gain tremendous confidence in our accomplishment. Shawn, our guide and owner, shared all of his knowledge and skills to create a comfortable experience... he's a patient and smart teacher. What an AMAZING experience! Yes, I was terrified, but this was something I have wanted to do for a long time (like 60 years), and Joe, my tandem diver was exactly the right person for me! He was patient, fun, and he really put me at ease. I loved it so much I plan to go back in the Spring and do it again! As someone who is afraid of heights I want to let everyone know - don't let that stop you! The fear you have on a ladder is just not there - very strange but true! So go do it! And I recommend purchasing the video - I have watched mine many times already and I just jumped 2 days ago! A must try! We started off our day with a safety discussion regarding climbing and practices to stay Covid safe. Alex and Matt answered all of over questions and were available throughout our session if we needed help or direction. They were an incredibly hospitable and provided great service. Our multi day tour, The Long Road, has used the Roadhouse for one of our stops in each of the last four years. It is a great place to stay and you can also rent out beds if you are doing your own tour with a group. Wayne, John and their other partners, Mark and Ben VanLeewarden did an excellent job, gathering ideas they came up with while riding The Long Road years ago and did an awesome job of coming up with the idea to open a chopper touring company. Their expertise in motorcycle mechanics allows them to make any repairs needed along the way and they usually have a back up bike in their pickup in the event of a serious break down, ensuring your riding adventure carries on smoothly. They are a great bunch of people and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and your trip an event to remember! The Roadhouse is a great place to stay as it is air conditioned and after some hot summer days of riding, is a welcome relief. If you've ever wanted to get experience of riding cross country in a scene right out of the movie Easy Rider, without actually spending $30,000 or more on a custom chopper, this is the way to experience it!See more..

I recently took DC Dirt Camp's "clutch capable level 3" class, which is for people who have been riding motorcycles for a while, but want to learn how to ride offroad. The class is taught on DCDC's motorcycles, so you don't need to bring your own. They also have some safety equipment that you can use if you don't have your own. The class starts out "in the beginning," learning how to properly mount & dismount a dirt bike and getting used to the clutch, but by the end of the day you're hopping over 1/2 telephone poles and making u-turns on hills. BJ and crew are wonderful, patient, caring teachers who really love their work and their students.See more..
