    - 2020 Local Stafford Virginia Winery for drinks and music
    Tuesday: Wineries & Vineyards
    Potomac Point Winery image
This was my second visit to this location. It was a warm humid evening. We made reservations to be outside to listen to the music. We were seated on the patio nearest the entrance. I thought we were going to be sitting on the hillside but found that we were not. The music provided was one guitar player located outside the under a tent where the people around us and those on the hillside could listen to his music. About two hours of his playing and he moved his playing into the air conditioned ballroom./ We requested permission to go sit in the ballroom to listen to the music. We ordered the white wine cheese tray to share with our drinks. As the weather was so humid and there were empty tables, we asked permission to move nearer an overhead fan. The tables were social distanced. Servers wore masks but I do not recall if anyone of them wore gloves. We later walked on to the hillside overlooking the winery vineyards and found two chairs so we could watch the sunset. See more..

    Fabbioli Cellars image
So I am a regular at Fabbioli's and now have been a wine club member for a full year. I was there to do my monthly tasting and also to pick up my wine for the quarter. I arrived right as they opened on Sunday and had the place to myself for my entire 20 minute tasting. I got to have Brian as my server and we chatted like old friends (we have done several tastings together). I let him got through his normal spiel as I tasted the wines and bites with chatting in between. They had one new release on the tasting menu as well as several tried and true selections. I really enjoyed the Ladies Man cider and surprisingly the Barbera, even though I am not a red person. This did help with my wine selections though as the Barbera was on of the Doug's Picks. It was a lovely time and I look forward to Beauty and the Beast tastings for next month. See more..

Last time we were here was several years ago and it was just an ‘ok’ visit, so while in the area, we decided to stop in and give them another try. First off, this is a BEAUTIFUL winery with lovely property! When we walked in and were immediately greeted by a lovely lady who welcomed us there and took us to their bar to go over their offerings. We tasted a couple of wines and selected a few glasses to sit & sip while watching the sun set over the mountains behind their venue. That sunset is amazing too! We sat upstairs, inside, near the deck. The wines we got tasted really good. The venue is beautiful, very nice timber-framed tasting room and service was friendly! I’d return and recommend Sunset Hills to others as well! See more..

    Tarara Winery image
Having been here years ago - I was a bit turned off by the increase to $10 per tasting. - and then one by one other wineries started charging for wine tastings - So, after a recent recommendation from a friend, we went back this month. Charming place. Great grounds quietly tucked into the NoVa woods. Large Tasting room and ample deck. There are stairs - a lot - but might be a back way in for wheelchair accessibility. Nice lake with picnic tables just on the upper half of the property. Ample parking. Wines were pretty decent as well - and we bought a few bottles. Definitely get a white for the patio. Friendly staff. No up-sell. Couldn't tell if there was food for sale. Would definitely recommend. See more..

My wife and I had a fantastic flight of wine, followed by a bottle, at Barren Ridge Vineyards. We were very fortunate to meet Angela and Rob, the owners of the establishment. We shared some somewhat overlapping experiences we have each had in Europe. Rob talked to us about the history of the area and vineyard, as well as how the local weather/soil contributes to the vineyard's wines. Both Rob and Angela signed my 2019 edition of 'Hidden Gems' wineries in America. This was truly an exceptional experience! Naked Mountain Winery & Vineyards image
We were going to be meeting up with family and needed a place that had shelter in case it rained (the forecast was calling for thunderstorms). I had emailed a number of wineries in the area to see what accommodations they had and Naked Mountain replied right away. They did have two large gazebos, with a few picnic tables each, and that worked just great for us. We were able to socially distance with our family members and still enjoy the day. (It never did rain!) There were several areas outside of the gazebos for people to sit, in the large grass area, at tables, under trees. While there were many cars in the parking lot, there was enough space for everyone to spread out and be safe during this covid world. We enjoyed all of the wines we tried. Several of us tired the five sample "flights" of wine, and we also enjoyed a bottle of the Raptor Red. A very enjoyable day for my family (we ended up being there for 4 hours!). See more..

A truly great experience had. I cannot recommend Nat and his family enough at Bluestone, and so nice to see a local family grow within their own community. The tour was so informative an educational. Nat's font of knowledge and enthusiasm for the Vineyard, was continually portrayed through out the whole 2/3 hours. A perfect memorable gift/experience for absolutely anyone. Beautiful views & great location too also made for such an appreciative experience. We felt humbled to be in such presence, in such a luscious part of this wonderful country. We will be back! Deana & Jeff See more..
