I went out with Tyler Nonn and Tidewater Charters twice in the Keys in February 2021. I strongly recommend Tidewater Charters to both experienced anglers hunting a trophy fish and those looking to take the family out and keep the rods bent. Tyler kept us moving and on the fish - he quickly assessed whether we were in a productive spot and wasn’t afraid to leave fish to find better ones. We also went tarpon fishing at night on a second trip, and each of us on the boat landed our 1st tarpon (not a small feat). Apart from his angling experience, Tyler was great to be with on the boat and provided a wealth of knowledge on the fishery and conservation. We were staying at Lake Anna for a week and wanted to take a quiet trip around the lake on the water. Captain Ellis at Orange Troller was great. He is knowledgeable about the lake and area, safe, and eager to make sure you have a great time. We had a bottle of wine and cruised the water for a couple of hours. Would highly recommend a cruise or fishing trip with Captain Ellis at Orange Troller for anyone visiting Lake Anna!See more..

This is a wonderful adventure that accommodates any age and appetite for something different. I have been many times.... Every time I return invigorated and blessed to live in such a beautiful area. If you have not seen the coast from this perspective you will be amazed at the hidden beauty, beautiful wildlife and the peaceful nature of getting away for a few minutes. As a company or team mini retreat.... It is just what we needed.... Get away... stop for a moment in a beautiful place and talk....clarity of thought without the normal distractions.... We fished two days with South Holston River Company, one with Todd and one with Shane. I was blown away by the level of professionalism, knowledge, and overall fishiness these guys poses. Conditions were really difficult but they worked their tails off to ensure we caught fish and had a great time. We accomplished both, boating over 30 fish one day. What stuck out to me is how well respected these guys are within the local guide community and how serious they take their job. From vials of bugs to match the food source at their tying bench to their deep knowledge of the water they fish. In our group of 9 we had two anglers who had never fly fished. Both caught plenty of fish and had a great experience and excellent teachers. South Holston River Company was accommodating to all skill levels. These guys are the real deal and have a client for life.See more..
My two sons and I went on a 6 hour float trip with Cap'n Richie and it was a fantastic day. Very peaceful, beautiful river, great guide, and LOTS of fish! He was very patient guide and as a former science teacher, very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. Unbelievably priced...I've paid twice as much for less with other guides. We had great a great time fishing with Clint last week he has a very nice boat and did his best to put us on fish! We only caught nine but it was a blast. I will definitely book with him again next year!See more..
My friends and I decided to rent a boat on a Saturday night and called around Sunday morning. Captain's Quarters had a pontoon available and we decided to go with them since we couldn't get in touch with anyone else. When we got there were relieved to find out the pontoons were all newer and well maintained. We assumed since they were the only company we get in touch with that their fleet must be outdated or something. Well it was the exact opposite of course. The day was enjoyed by all and we took the advice of the staff of where to go. This was the first and definitely not the last time we rent a boat and it absolutely is going to be from Captain's Quarters.See more..

Friendly local owned shop that opens early for all you fishermen and women. Live bait available. We stopped in for a long sleeved shirt when the weather turned cooler and found the perfect crab knife to clean crabs. Even the cat was friendly! Worth a stop if you like the outdoors!See more..

We had an amazing trip with Tim. He was pleasant and personable. Knew where to go to catch fish (we were catching fish left and right). He took us to the dolphins, they were super close to the boat, that was cool. Catching 2 sharks was unexpected and an exciting experience (this was not a shark trip, yet Tim knew kids would like to catch a shark and he did what was needed to give them a good chance of that). My son’s shark fought a lot and Tim calmly guided him through the reeling in process. We plan to come back to Chincoteague for another fishing adventure with Tim.See more..
