Spent two days touring the mountings in southern Virginia. While touring on a scenic highway we accidentally came to “Lovers Leap” viewers area. While there I meet two young ladies who new the story about Lovers Leap and even pulled the story up on their cellphone and read it to me. Had great time touring the area. See more..

The parking is easy. The trail is a part of Warm Springs Mountain Preserve which belongs to Nature Conservancy. It is 2.36 miles long and the Overlook is the trail’s highlight and main landmark. Along the way there are many explanatory signs and the view at the overlook platform is very rewarding. See more..

Loved this hike and the view/setting at the top was amazing. We were very lucky to have hiked on a Tuesday and only passed one other person the entire time. Having the incredible view at the top all to ourselves, we sat up there for an hour or so. Good hike, well marked, moderate in difficulty. See more..

This is in my opinion one of the nicest overlooks along the Blue Ridge Parkway! The parking lot is larger than almost all of the other overlooks and the view is simply amazing. I've been told by locals that with a permit you can repel down the cliff and that the size of the valley below is greater than the Grand Canyon! Absolutely a must stop along the parkway. See more..

Incredible hike to amazing views. We started the hike off of Route 81. The wildflowers are abundant. We passed persons leaving the area after they removed a tree. Our party of four walked the fire access road to the left for more room and were able to go two by two instead of single file. Walking sticks or trekking poles are helpful but not needed. We started at 8am on a mild July day. Beautiful blue skies and clear day. The trail is rocky but well maintained. This is a challenge make no mistake. Take water in a backpack so your hands are free. We packed a lunch as burning calories on this ascent to the top. Views are incredible as you reach the summit. Cliffs have no safety rails so caution is paramount. Had lunch at the top and took pics. Wow! Is all I can say as the climb is well worth the effort. See more..
