In a relaxing, non stuffy manner, they share not only their wines but amazing and affordable wines from all around the world. Most recently we took the South African Wine class and sampled 9 wines. The trip was excellent. Weather conditions posed a bit of a challenge but my climbing partner and I accomplished the goals we set out for: to advance our level of sport climbing. Our guide Nickel had a meticulous and methodical teaching style which we both appreciated. We felt safe at all times and Nickel instilled the confidence in us to challenge ourselves during the climbs. He is a wealth of climbing and outdoor knowledge. I’m never quite sure what businesses reside in the old historic buildings that comprise Main Street of Historic Yorktown (up the hill from the waterfront). The On the Hill Gallery fills one of those iconic buildings. The gallery is light and airy (and air conditioned!). There’s a variety of art from local artists who volunteer to run the gallery. Prices range from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars. There are all kinds of mediums (paintings, pottery, glass, encaustics, jewelry, etc.). Definitely worth a stop.See more..

Really enjoyed visiting the Art Factory. It's a great spot for private parties or you can sign up for their open Paint Nights. Either way you will be glad you tried them. I recently attended a fundraiser paint event. It was very well done and such a great time. There was a nice group of gals there to paint and the instructor made the process really easy. I was impressed that I was able to produce a painting that I am proud to hang in my home. I plan to get a few friends together and do another paint event soon. I have never hosted an event here but I know several folks who have. It's always a bonus when you are able to schedule a kid's party away from the house when it's going to involve crafts. The Art Factory has several different packages and they provide hostesses to set-up, clean up and help with all the fun. They will even coordinate with Sergio's next door to have your pizzas there for you. All you really need to do is order a cake and send out invitations.
