Looking for an outdoor activity during covid, my husband and decided to check out the Ravenwood renaissance faire on Halloween 2020 in Winchester (VA) - it was quite disappointing. We arrived mid afternoon and walked around to get the lay of the land. What we encountered were way too many small groups of would-be thespians talking amongst themselves, a mildly entertaining jousting tournament, tents selling medieval type wares, and a few food vendors. Never realized pizza was a medieval food lol. That said, the Kilts and Daggers stage music was very good, and the glass blowing demonstration was well done. Bottomline, it's basically a flea market with a medieval theme. We stayed for an hour, which was long enough. At $20 per ticket, we were rather underwhelmed. See more..
