Without a doubt this is the best place to go horseback riding in the Luray, VA area!!! I surprised my girlfriend with their special occasion ride and wow, I was impressed. My expectations were beyond exceeded! Lisa and the guides were super lovely and went above and beyond to make this surprise extra special. They had a whole setup for us about halfway through our ride and took care of the horses while we had some time to celebrate! Regardless, if you don’t do a special occasion ride, this is still the place to go to. Customer service was an 11/10, they are very communicative and work with you. Beforehand, I was worried it was going to rain and I would have to cancel our ride, so I called Lisa multiple times and she was super sweet answering all my questions and monitoring the weather. Luckily it turned out to be sunny which made the special ride so much better. I highly recommend going to this place (because I will be coming back for sure)!See more..

Even during COVID, there are still a lot of options and things to do. Unfortunately, the tickets for tubing, ice skating & other events can sell out quickly during the busy season (bc of limited times due to COVID) so it’s a gamble with the weather and times, but we were fortunate to have been able to do everything. Our condo was very nice and clean. Had no issues while here. We don’t live too far from the resort so it’s always a nice getaway. A friend and I went on a 1 hour trail ride at Oakland Heights Farm which is about a 40-minute drive outside of Charlottesville. The trail guides were kind and patient (for very beginner level questions), the horses were calm and friendly, and the trail path up and down the mountainside was lovely. You can tell the staff really love the horses they care for and want to share an enjoyable experience with horse riding newbies. I recommend this place to others.See more..

We had a 2-hour ride. My wife and I have riding experience and went with our son and our 7yr granddaughter. The horses were well behaved. Most important was our guide took great care of our granddaughter and made it a point of her having a great experience. She especially liked getting to canter. I am SO very impressed by this facility and Jean French! I have been to many barns over the last 40+ years and I have to say, this one is top notch. I love that Jean takes the time to educate all the guests about horse behavior and mentality. She is also very careful to chose the right horse for the rider. My husband has never been on a horse before and had a lot of fear and anxiety. Jean was so patient and encouraging with him. Today he had his second lesson with her, followed by his first trail ride, which he really enjoyed. Although they did not know how experienced you are so they kept you at a slower pace. They are the cleanest,and nicest people that you could ride with. . They helped you down if you needed it and they let me lead the horses back to the stables. We saw wild life on the trail, like Turkey vultures.
