    This is a fast and easy way to cross over the James River and have a bit of fun while doing it. Surprisingly, it's free! There were 10-15 vehicles in front of us waiting to get on but the staff quickly directed each vehicle to the appropriate spot and we left the shore at 4:22P. The ride was smooth and we arrived on the Jamestown side much more quickly than we expected. Exiting the ferry was fast and efficient as the staff expertly directed vehicles to drive off, and we were on our way. Would utilize this ferry again!!! See more..

    Took the ferry for the experience and to get to a restaurant we wanted to eat at (Surry Seafood Co.) and we’re so glad we did. Even our dog, who is typically scared of boats, handled it well. Thru the day it runs at least once every 1/2 hour so easy to get on for the 20 minute ride across the James River. Worth the effort ….. and free of charge. See more..

    We had a beautiful day for our trip to Tangier. About 45 minutes from Chincoteague Island. 10:00 AM boat trip , one hour ride, and back in Onancock by 4:30. The boat is spotless and Captain was very professional. Someone challenged him about the cost, which was ridiculous considering it is a round trip fair and you couldn’t even go to the movie theater for what a one way trip would cost. Come on folks…. Are we really so narrow minded to deny decent people from making a honest living instead of taking hand outs from the government for NOT working.!! Just shameless behavior on the part of that obnoxious pretentious person. We planned to rent a golf cart and do our own tour, but they were not available. We did rent bikes fromFour Brothers. Only one restaurant was open, but it’s still early in the season. See more..

    I was traveling back to Boyne Mt Resort from Charlevoix when my GPS to me another route than the one I had enter the city. I had lost the visual on my device but decided to follow the verbal commands. I was told that to go to Ferry Road and get on the Ferry. I did so and thoroughly loved the change of scenery and drive back to my destibation. The ferry operator was kind and friendly. It cost $3. It was an unusual and unplanned treat for my day. The following day my husband wanted to go experience it so we went to Charlevoix once again. See more..
