  1. 4.5 Harbor Park (148 reviews)
    - MiLB park that should not be missed!
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Sports Complexes
    Harbor Park image
Excellent for baseball fans, small park but good for a relatively cheap night of baseball. Any baseball fan will find this park a gem. I could easily see myself making this a regular night out if we lived in the area. $6 parking, $15 advanced tickets got us 4th row behind the plate, and food was typical for baseball games. Skip the tide dog (with crab)-was deemed “just ok” but try the elote (street corn)! See more..

This is a great, well kept park to visit. It has wonderful walking /hiking paths, a nice play area for young ones and lots of picnic areas. You can also play a little football, baseball or soccer on the fields. The memorial area dedicated to veterans is touching. If you are in the area, stop by for a little taste of nature. See more..

Windy Hill Golf Course & Sports Complex image
We took our 5 and 9-year-old grandkids to play mini golf on a lovely summer morning. It's a beautiful facility and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, our little athletes were much too impatient to enjoy the course. We let the 9 year old try the driving range since he has had a bit of experience with golf. When they're older we'll try the go carts and batting cages. My husband golfs here regularly and recommends it. See more..

  7. 4.0 Swaders Sports Park (20 reviews)
    - Fun! Great batting cages
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Sports Complexes
Excellent place! I wish I could have spent a lot more time here. I am an adult 43 years of age, yet I'm a young at heart kid who loves batting cages. The price is reasonable at $2.00 for 20 balls. I would have loved to have spent more time to explore this fun place. Next time I am in the Colonial Heights area visiting family I would love to drive to Swaders. In the future I'd love to try Route 66 Bowling. See more..
  8. 4.0 The Range (20 reviews)
    - The Guy Behind the Counter is NOT a Jerk
Thursday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM Sports Complexes
    The Range image
His name is Paul and knows his job. I have never gone in there and had any issue at all with Paul. He is in the shooting range business and if you want to be treated like a snowflake you should go someplace else. Excellent small range, they do allow you to reserve lanes and the prices are great. You are shooting holes in paper, how much do you really want to pay to do that? You can shoot here, rent firearms, buy ammo, and receive online purchases for FFL transfer. The prices are also competitive in that regard. The speed of the transfer is NOT in the control of the business, it is up to the State Police. It takes as long as it takes. See more..

  10. 4.5 Little Stony National Recreation Trail (13 reviews)
    - Peace and Quiet

Little Stony National Recreation Trail image
Went with my teenage son to get out of house during COVID-19 outbreak. The Hanging Rock trailhead was closed so we drove to the top and walked down to see the three falls. All three amazingly quiet and pristine. Absolutely no trash and trails very well marked. No getting lost on this trail. Not strenuous walking and you can get to all three falls and back to parking lot with maybe a 2 mile hike. Apparently if beginning from Hanging Rock, it is a lengthy bike to get to the first falls. Very nice hike for some quiet and calm in this crazy world. See more..
  11. 4.5 MedStar Capitals Iceplex (13 reviews)
    - Capitals Morning Skate & Autographs
Thursday: 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes
    MedStar Capitals Iceplex image
We went to watch the Washington Capitals morning skate and ended up having an incredible time here. The facilities were easy to find and very well kept. The public is abe to watch the Capitals practice and afterwards the kids were able to get some autographs from a few players who stayed back. This place has a very nice set up for the fans, especially the younger ones. If you want close access to the Washington Capitals, this a good place to start. There was plenty of cheap parking, they sell food and drinks and have a Capitals fan shop as well. See more..
  12. 4.5 Virginia Sports Complex (7 reviews)
    - A hidden Gem (Gym)
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Sports Complexes
    Virginia Sports Complex image
Tucked away on Rt.1 is a great facility on the rise. With family nights, MMA events, Roller derby (1 so far hope they come back), it's so much more than a Sports Park. Lot's of outdoor fields of course, but they alter the inside portion to fit the season. Batting Cages, Basketball, etc. If you go or check it out, don't just look, ask questions. They do so many things and offer so many events, you should not assume anything. It's not just for league teams, it's for everyone. You should look into it. See more..
  13. 5.0 Harry L. Coomes Recreation Center (2 reviews)
    - Absolutely love this place !
    Sports Complexes
Harry L. Coomes Recreation Center image
This is actually my third visit to the center and each time is just as exciting as the one before because they have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool for public use with a $5.00 cover charge. Many of the local school swim teams practice here and it also has playgrounds for small children, in and outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, weight & exercise rooms in which you can personally hire your own trainer who by the name is Adam Parks. There are always lifeguards in the pool are which I can personally give hat's off to Alex and Bryce for their good works. I would recommend this place to almost anyone with a taste for workouts. 14. 4.0 Mac's Roller Rink (1 review)
    - A Great Place to hang out with Kids
Thursday: Spent 2-3 hours Sports Complexes • Game & Entertainment Centers
Yes, that crazy purple building out on Rt. 522—that’s us! It may look like a hole in the wall from the outside, but on the inside is some of the best family entertainment our area has to offer. See more..
  15. 4.0 River City Sportsplex (1 review)
    - Lacrosse Weekend
    Sports Complexes
We had three games here for a weekend girls lacrosse event. The park is large and parking is in a paved lot and a gravel lot. The gravel lot churned up lots of dust since it was a dry weekend. There were restrooms in the main portion of park with a concession stand and area for vendors. The fields were all turf and kept nice. Overall it was a nice facility. There are a few metal bleachers at each field and the fields are fenced and you can't put chairs on the turf so you have to sit outside the fence. There is no shade! See more..
