Great experience

We did the sunset group paddle and it was fantastic. There's nothing like seeing this area from the water. The horses moved into the woods before we got across the channel but we learned all about them and the other flora and fauna as well as the history of the area. Our guides were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, helpful, and patient. The whole team was very welcoming. We highly recommend Assateague Adventures.

    Great Couples' Activity
My wife and I did the 10:00 AM option in early August 2022. Weather was great and the tour was a complete success, The guides were sisters and were accommodating, very friendly and offered as much information to questions as the guests asked. We enjoyed seeing the secluded beach and finding some wildlife while we walked on that beach area. We got to see the eagles' nest, jellyfish, a live conch and lots of little hermit crabs. We were issued a dual kayak and proper life vests (although we were not required to wear them) and some quick instruction on how to paddle and work together to keep the kayak moving. I'll assume that you're athletic enough to paddle a kayak and can do the work to paddle most of the tour. The currents are no joke and required a good level of fitness to get the most out of the tour. Be sure to bring sunglasses, a hat and a waterproof bag for your cell phone because you'll want to take pictures once you've made it to the beach area where you can explore. You'll also want to make sure you put on and bring plenty of sunscreen as your legs are exposed on the kayaks (we assumed they would be inside but the kayaks are open). Also bring plenty of fluids to keep hydrated in the heat and after the physical exertion. I am not certain that I would recommend this activity for young kids or those less than teenagers. They may not enjoy the kayak ride time since there's not really anything to do for them while being on the kayak. If you're a tourist and looking for something new and interesting, give this tour a shot. The tours don't take up that much time and give you a break from all the normal activities and let you see the island from a very neat perspective.

    Morning Paddle with Pony View
Had a great morning kayak trip with Jess and Steve. They are incredibly enthusiastic and genuine, and truly treat all of their customers like friends. We also got to see a large group of ponies up-close, which was the best pony view we had of the whole vacation. Definitely can highly recommend using this company! Also I'd like to note, we had originally scheduled an afternoon kayak tour the previous day. Jess called us a few hours before the scheduled time and explained that they would be happy to take us out, but the wind was increasing and the conditions for kayaking weren't great. We ended up re-scheduling for the next morning, at which time the weather was nearly perfect. I appreciated this effort on their part, as so many companies would have just taken our money and thrown us into poor conditions without a second thought.
