  1. 4.5 Race Point Beach (1.527 reviews)
    - Beautiful National Seashore beach
    Beaches
    Race Point Beach image
Relax on sandy shores and hike dunes and grassland at this beautiful coastal stretch on the tip of Cape Cod. Spot seals sunbathing on the sandbars off the coast, and book a boat tour during the summer and fall months to see the whales that migrate through the area. Later in the day, head to the westernmost end of the beach to see the 200-year-old Race Point Lighthouse during sunset—in summer, the sun disappears right behind the lighthouse. There is ample parking nearby, and also restaurants and cafes in the area. – Tripadvisor See more..

  3. 4.5 Nauset Beach (755 reviews)
    - One of our “Go-To” Beaches
    Beaches
    Nauset Beach image
Nauset Beach is an absolutely beautiful place to spend a day. We’ve gone several times and have always seen many seals pretty close to shore. They’re fun to watch and don’t seem too bothered by humans. The beach is also a great place to beachcomb for interesting and colorful rocks if you’re into that. You won’t find shells here, but you will find a lot of nice stones, pebbles and rocks. The water is a little chilly for swimming and there are a fair amount of sharks around, but it’s great for wading. We certainly see people swimming, too. Nauset Beach is very large with plenty of room for long walks, or just relaxing away from the crowds. We always make it a point to spend some time on Nauset Beach when we’re on the Cape, and we recommend you do too! -The PowerTrippers See more..

    Beaches
    Coast Guard Beach image
Part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, this coastal gem is a prime spot in summer. Many flock to surf and go boogie boarding, while sun worshippers strive to get the best tan. In summer, you have to pay a fee to access the beach—fees vary depending on your mode of transportation. Parking is not available at the beach, so either hike from Nauset Trail or take the shuttle from Little Creek instead. If you come during winter, you’re likely to spot harbor seals at the end of Nauset Spit or on the marsh. – Tripadvisor See more..

  8. 4.5 Seagull Beach (539 reviews)
    - Perfect day at Seagull Beach!
    Beaches
    Seagull Beach image
After researching the local beaches near our hotel I decided on this one and I have to say I made a good choice! :) Arrived at 9:45am on a Saturday in July and there was still plenty of parking available. Parking is $20 (cash only) for non residents. We parked near to the building that houses the restrooms and snack bar as was suggested in TA reviews. From that area it's a quick, easy walk along a short boardwalk to a perfect spot in the sand. Water is calm and fairly warm. There wasn't too much seaweed although there are a lot of small shells along the shore line that you need to step over/around (or wear water shoes). Clean restrooms, outdoor shower, foot shower and a nice snack bar are available. If you're staying in this area this is the place to go! Especially good for families with children, couples, and seniors. See more..
  9. 4.5 Marconi Beach (536 reviews)
    - Great day at Marconi!
    Beaches
    Marconi Beach image
Brought the family (ages 12-82) for a day at the beach. Daily fee of $25 worth the ample parking available; if we were there for three days or more, the season pass worth $60 would have been the way to go. I would have gone back in a heartbeat. Park Staff were friendly, bathrooms clean. There are stairways down to the beach (with several landings to rest if you need) and sections of the beach cordoned off if you bring your dog. Surfers abound - bring your boogie board if you have one. Sand was soft (and hot!). The day we went the water temp was a brisk 41 degrees! (Found out from newscast later that day.) Family friendly beach - worthy of your time. See more..
  10. 4.5 South Beach (489 reviews)
    - A pretty nice Ocean BEach
    Beaches
    South Beach image
South Beach is a nice ocean beach with soft sand (as opposed to most of the other beaches on the island). The day we went the waves were incredibly calm which was surprising reading about the surf on here (though we did see a seal pop up). I will say, this was definitely the most crowded beach I had been to while here in MV (State Beach was much less full!) so for that reason I docked a star. Plenty of free parking, bathrooms and lifeguards if you feel you need that. However, if you're looking for emptier beaches, probably not the spot. See more..
  11. 4.5 Chatham Lighthouse Beach (476 reviews)
    - Gorgeous beach to walk and take pictures
    Beaches
    Chatham Lighthouse Beach image
Absolutely gorgeous! Looks like right out of a painting and as gorgeous as the movies depict. I'm jealous of the homes that call this their backyard. Across the street is the Chatham Lighthouse. Parking is available right in front of the beach (payment required) and there is a placard explaining some of the history of the beach. Next time, I'm splurging on a hotel in this area. See more..
  12. 4.5 Skaket Beach (450 reviews)
    - Unique, Beautiful, Iconic Cape Cod
    Beaches
    Skaket Beach image
We arrived when the tide was fairly high, and even at high tide there was still lots of beach to explore. The views are beautiful as is the scenery. You could clearly see all the way to Provincetown. The beach itself is like looking at a Cape Cod postcard. As the tide went out, numerous tide pools, rocks and sandbars were exposed. At low tide, you feel like you could almost wade all the way to P-Town. We arrived a few days after Labor Day, so there was no cost to park and there were no crowds. Normally, I believe it costs $25 to park and the parking can apparently fill up quickly. Regardless, it’s a perfect place to kick back, relax and enjoy a Beach Day. We highly recommend! -The PowerTrippers See more..
  13. 4.5 Nantasket Beach (418 reviews)
    - Excellent Beach
    Beaches
    Nantasket Beach image
We went here on a Saturday in September. Traffic driving here was not bad, and we got here at like 10, and there was plenty of parking available. By the mid afternoon though, the lots near the beach were full. The beach itself is very nice. It is very long, with plenty of sand, and areas to park out, especially when the tide is lower. In September, the water was cold, but not too cold to swim, so we could do some swimming. Sitting on the beach was very nice and pleasant, and the water looked very pretty. There are also changing and bathroom facilities right by the beach. Near the beach there are also some places to get food. There was little traffic driving home from the beach in the evening. This is the most pristine beach on the north side of Dennis on the Cape. Splendid sand, clear shallow water, this beach on a low tide is magnificent. Wingaersheek Beach image
Twice in the past, before Gloucester wisely adopted an online parking reservations system for the summer high season, I waited in stop-and-go traffic hoping in vain to get to this famous beach, but ultimately ran out of time and had to turn around on both occasions. I eventually had a chance to visit in early December, at sunset. The long wait was worth it. While the many summer services on this beach were closed, of course, the stirring beauty of the flat rippled sandy shoreline, stretching in dusky majesty toward the Annisquam Lighthouse on the horizon in one direction, and the North Shore coastline on the other, knows no season. A cold wind was blowing steadily, but nonetheless there was a scattering of intrepid beach visitors, each seemingly taking in the wondrous show in reverent silence. In this rarefied setting, a brief flash of surrendering sunlight on a distant window was like a wink from heaven. See more..

I’ve tried to visit this beach many times, it is a big challenge, if you are not a resident, to find parking especially during weekends. There is another parking before the beach that you can park your car if not a resident but the spots are limited. Once you overcome parking problems then you can enjoy the beach :) Ive been there couple times, the water is deep and very cold for my taste, but my friend find it perfect and was swimming for an hour! I should not forget to mention that is always clean :) See more..

    Sunday: Beaches
    Salisbury Beach image
Went to Salisbury Beach with my family for the first time in July. The beach itself was nice but there wasn't a lot of open sand for people to camp out but we found a spot. The water was freezing! But yes I went in and the waves were nice. The real plus is the boardwalk area, restaurants, shops and arcades. We had a blast playing 1980's games and new video games. We had ice cream. Heard a live band and watched the fireworks from the beach! Plus parking was easy. We will be back. Had a good time! See more..

    Horseneck Beach State Reservation image
Despite Covid-19, this beach is just as popular as ever. There are a few changes to not though. 1) only credit cards are being accepted....no cash!! 2) you must wear a mask when using the facilities 3) park in a designated parking spot. We noticed someone getting a parking ticket for parking in a spot that clearly stated "no parking". In order to have more space, you do need to walk a bit more either left or right. Some people were almost on top of each other as they did not want to go far off the path from the boardwalk to the beach. We usually just walk both ways and the farther you go, the less people you see. See more..

    Salisbury Beach State Reservation image
I was camping by myself for the first time and hadn’t been camping even with friends in 10 years. I’ve only camped in California so wasn’t sure what to expect. I pulled in at 8:30, it was already dark. Bummer. But ok I can do this. Found my spot and someone offered me a flashlight and encouraged me to use my headlights to set up my tent. One of the campers had a string of twinkle lights which I love. It was sold out so very tight. Campers next to me were only a few feet away. Nice facilities but being TP bc most stalls were empty. Walked over to the beach and took in the view and the sounds of lapping water. Lots of skunks around. Lots. No skunk smell though. Slept well. Made coffee on micro camp stove in the morning for first time. Very proud of myself so yeah lots of instagram and tik tok french press coffee videos were made. Headed out the next morning for Acadia in Maine. No complaints. Had low expectations so really enjoyed it. See more..
  26. 4.5 Front Beach (141 reviews)
    - Cold but refreshing
    Sunday: 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM Beaches
    Front Beach image
I would never visit Rockport in the summer without going for a swim at front beach. The first day we were there this year the water was unbelievably cold. I would actually like to know what the temperature was. The key to going swimming in Rockport is to just jump right in; completely immerse yourself. Swimming in the cold water is very refreshing and feels fantastic. The beach was clean and the raft was out in the water so you could swim out to it. My sons purchased a ball in town that bounces on the water and they spent a lot of time playing in the water with that as well. We had a lot of fun. See more..

Inkwell Beach is popular for its gentle waves, central location near Oak Bluffs Ferry Terminal, and cultural and historical significance—since the late 1800s, this beach has been frequented by the African American community. Dive into its deep history along the African American Heritage Trail or on a guided tour of Martha's Vineyard. Beyond its shores, check out cool spots like Ocean Park, the Flying Horses Carousel, and Corbin Norton House. You might even spot the Polar Bears of Martha's Vineyard, the community’s group of early morning swimmers. The area's colorful gingerbread cottages and Victorian-style houses are also great for photo ops. – Tripadvisor See more..

    Fort Phoenix State Reservation image
I spent the 4th of July at Ft Phoenix and it turned out to be an excellent choice. There were not many people there, so social distancing was no problem. Parking was plentiful and FREE. The ruins of the fort was interesting. I didn’t go into the water, so I can’t access that, but water shoes would be a good idea. Bathrooms were reasonably clean. I am sure there are better beaches in MA, places like Crane Island, but it requires advanced reservations and the last time I checked, it was booked up through July, so it does no good to have better beaches if you can’t go. I drove through Plum Island a few days before the 4th, late in the afternoon, and there was very little parking available. Anyone wanting to get outside, but away from crowds should consider aft Phoenix. See more..

    - Great Walking Beach
    Beaches
    Long Beach image
Long Beach is a beautiful place. I plan my day at the beach around the tide. I like to arrive just as high tide hits and walk the length of the peninsula as the tide recedes. The sights are breathtaking and the sounds are soothing to the soul. I pack the sunscreen, plenty of water to drink, a bag for treasures and get lost for hours. The public beach access can get a bit too crowded for me so I will be investing in the 4WD pass to drive beyond the public access with the family. Also a fabulous location for wave watching during storms. I've captured amazing footage and shots of water crashing over the wall. *Tip ~ always be prepared for a difference in temperature, winds and quick change in the weather if you're heading out to the peninsula. 37. 4.5 Lambert's Cove Beach (66 reviews)
    - A surprise at the end of a nice walk
    Beaches
    Lambert's Cove Beach image
Getting to this beach is a challenge. First you need a pass from the town of West Tisbury. Then you need find parking. If you can't get into the lot then you need to use the "walk on" pass. Once parked you have a 5 minute walk through the forest to the bottom of a sand dune. But at the top of the dune there is a gorgrous white sand beach rimmed by tall sand dunes, cliffs, Vineyard Sound and in the distance the Elizabethan islands of Cuttyhunk, Naushawena, Pasque and Naushon islands. The beach is rarely crowded and the reason is; the previously stated impediments to the hordes of Vineyard visitors. You have to work for your privacy, jump through some hoops, get there at the right time and haul your stuff down the path and over the dunes but one there; bliss. Pets only allowed in 7-10am IF you can get parking then See more..

I hadn't been to Pierce Beach since I was a kid (a long time ago) and I only really recall going to the playground. It was nostalgic to see the big red slide. My mom and I had been going to a different beach for many years because it was free; however, free isn't always good. We decided to try Pierce Beach. It cost us $10 because we are not Somerset residents and it was on a Saturday. It was a beautiful, summer day and I was surprised to see how quiet it was. I've read some poor reviews about this beach but I found it to be lovely! The sand is nice and it's a clean beach. I was used to going to a rocky, dirty beach. There's also a bathroom (a luxury I did not have at my former beach). They even had an ice cream truck stop by. I didn't even know they still had ice cream trucks!!! I will definitely go back next summer! See more..
