Beautiful Sunset!
We read that Madaket Beach has world-famous sunsets so that is where we headed to! We found out sunset was at 6:03pm (in Oct) and got there at 5:45pm. There is no parking lot and very few (maybe for 3 cars) parking spots on the side road. The beach is not within walking distance from town. The sunset on the beach was beautiful! We took tons of photos as the sun was setting only to discover that the BEST views were AFTER the sunset not when the sun was setting! (Wish someone would have told us that!). See the attached picture and see why the "after the sunset" is so beautiful - the sky was filled with all shades of colors! Excellent experience!

Disclaimer that our trip was in October, past peak season. On the day that we went to Madaket Beach, it’s was insanely windy and there was not another soul on the beach. So at least during the off-season, don’t look for boardwalks or restaurants or lifeguards. It was still lovely, but hang on tightly to your hat!
