  5. 5.0 Mount Holyoke College (58 reviews)
    - I heart Mount Holyoke

    Mount Holyoke College image
I love Mount Holyoke! It is the prettiest place in New England in the fall, even if you don't go to school there. The atmosphere is safe, friendly and liberating and I've never been anywhere else like it. Stuff to do there? The greenhouse is easy to breeze by but it's one of the coolest parts of the campus - there's even small jungle room. The art museum always puts on a good show and contains the perfect amount of stuff to see in an afternoon. There's a gravel path that loops upper lake for a scenic not-so-challenging hike, and if you're into horses you should check out the equestrian center, apparently it's one of the best ones in the Northeast. The library looks like a wing of Hogwarts on the inside and has a great coffee shop in the lobby, And check out Kendade, the new green science building, it's pretty spacey. Also the campus center always has student-oriented stuff going on on Friday and Saturday nights. Good times! See more..

  7. 5.0 Lloyd Center for the Environment (12 reviews)
    - Beautiful location for outdoor activities - kids & adults!

Lloyd Center for the Environment image
This is a beautiful area - 82 acres overlooking Buzzard's Bay. You can visit for free - many hiking trails. They also have canoe's & kayaks (not sure if those are free). They also have many scheduled programs for kids which have a minimal cost as well as programs they run with local schools and kids groups. I visited with a group of my friends and we had a guided canoe trip visiting the nesting osprey, seeing a family ducks and many other birds. We picnic'd on the beach and then returned to the center. Our guide (Erica) was fantastic - she even squeezed a little horseshoe crab lesson with a few kids we passed on the beach (so fun to watch them). It was very reasonably priced ($25 per person for non-members) - especially since you could have visited and hiked for free! It was a fun, relaxing morning (yes - even canoeing can be relaxing). I will definitely return and take advantage of those hiking trails. See more..

    Andover Newton Theological School image
With a beautiful campus lined with buildings dating from the 1820s, Andover Newton is a beautiful place to experience New England history and study. With a library that includes some of the oldest theology books in America, the school was the first to grant the master of divinity degree, now the standard degree required for ordination of mainline Christian pastors. The American Empire and Victorian Era buildings are beautifully maintained and the hilltop campus is especially delightful in the fall because of the amazing fall colors. See more..

  10. 5.0 Green Trees Gallery (1 review)
    - Coastal Norway Delight
    Art Galleries • Educational sites
The round-trip 11 day cruise on western Norway coast is a once-in-lifetime experience and worth the time and money. Food is overabundant but activities on-board and ashore were enticing, and crew was knowledgeable. Early summer was a good time to book, but early winter should also be worth it. See more..
