3.5Xfinity Center(312 reviews) - Excellent venue! Arrive VERY early for easy parking! Sunday: Theaters
We were there two nights in a row (Cheap Trick/Rod Stewart and Jimmy Buffet) and were impressed (as we’ve been over the years) with how they manage traffic in and out of the venue, took us no more than 10 minutes either way. YES, you must arrive early (i.e. at least 90 minutes before show time). Read they guidelines! You are only allowed a tiny clutch bag or transparent bag… you will be turned around! Prices for food and drinks are absolutely ridiculous… $47 for two margaritas! $47 for two sandwiches and a water bottle! They do allow you to bring in your own water if factory sealed. Seats are relatively comfortable. Security and other staff are helpful and attentive. There are indoor washrooms and plenty of portable potties in the parking lots and inside the venue.See more..

4.5Mendon Twin Drive-In(108 reviews) - Great to go to movies again!! Movie Theaters
Was really nice to be able to get out & see a movie! A lot of options at the snack shack and the ice cream was also good (both took credit/debit cards)! Bathrooms are clean and easy to use without being too close to people. We were there just before 7; before 7:30, the center spots are filled. Park where is stated to park; we (& many others) did not park close enough to the pole and had to move our cars; you can’t put 2 vehicles close to each other (even if together), etc. But, this lets them be open, which we really appreciated. Next time, we plan to bring a battery-operated radio: no problem with our battery, but had to keep turning ‘accessory’ mode back on, due to some automated thing in our vehicle that shuts it off after a while (if anyone knows how to prevent this, would be good to know). A lot of people sat outside, but we stayed in the car, since we forgot bug spray.See more..
4.5Amherst Cinema Arts Center(106 reviews) - A Gem of a Place Sunday: 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM Movie Theaters
Amherst Cinema is a non-profit, independent theater. Our mission is to inspire, inform and entertain through the universal language of cinema arts and to serve as a cultural and educational resource for all. The core of our programming at Amherst Cinema is first-run independent film and classic repertory. We show over 120 superb films each year - most are first-run gems not even considered by commercial cineplexes. Decisions about film selection are made by our programming experts who know film and who know our audiences, not - as with many multiplex theaters - by a central office in a distant location. HISTORY 1926: The Amherst Theater opened in a renovated livery building in downtown Amherst, MA. It screened many classic films and hosted occasional stage performances. 1955: the theater was sold to Samuel Goldstein and renamed Amherst Cinema. Through the 1990s, the building deteriorated due to a lack of basic maintenance. The theater closed in 1999. 2000: a group of local film buffs and arts lovers formed the nonprofit Amherst Cinema entity to save the historic structure from the auction block. With substantial help from hundreds of individuals, institutions and businesses, the group raised funds and developed plans for a cinema center. 2006: With help from hundreds of supporters, we raised nearly $3,000,000 for the Amherst Cinema's home. In May 2006, our nonprofit organization broke ground to build a new, state-of-the-art, three-screen cinema. The Amherst Cinema opened November 22, 2006. 2013: A new studio theater was opened adjacent to the main building.See more..

4.0AMC Loews Methuen 20(101 reviews) - Bathrooms are horrible! Sunday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Movie Theaters
I have been a regular patron of this AMC for many years (well over a decade), but the bathrooms are disgusting. Everything is always wet and at least one of the stalls is flooded with toilet water! Some of the theaters aren't in great shape either, with the seats having been picked apart. Nothing beats the bargain of AMC A-list, and the picture and audio quality are great, but they need to do a better job with the cleanliness.See more..

This was a bigger venue than I was expecting, which was a pleasant surprise! There’s not much to do in the area, but it’s a great spot for a show - plenty of parking and not too crowded where it’s a nightmare getting in and out of the venue area. The inside of the auditorium was great too, you could see the stage pretty well and you could hear everything perfectly. The bathroom situation was a little tough, each bathroom only had 2 stalls so there were pretty long lines, and the merch table was right in front of the doors to get to your seats so it was very crowded, but not a problem to get around. Overall, I think it was a good venue for a show!See more..
We were in New Bedford for their annual music festival formerly known as Summerfest. It was our first time attending this particular festival and we are accustomed to the camp out & sit outside on a hillside in the hot sun & pouring rain kind of festival. Having the main-stage in a comfy air conditioned venue (& on 2 very hot days) was a new experience for us. Its my understanding that this is the first year that the Ziterion was used for this purpose and that the main-stage had been under a canopy in the park in previous years.See more..

4.5Majestic Theatre(55 reviews) - Buddy Holly Great, Super, above Excellent Sunday: Theaters I just returned [Friday September 16, 2011] from seeing the production of the Buddy Holly Story at the Majestic Theater in West Springfield and it was OUTSTANDING. Let me give a lot of credit to the people that made this show one of the best and most enjoyable to ever be at the Majestic. First the Stage Manager, Megan Lynn Allen, nothing than remarkable and dazzling are only two if several dozen adjectives that can apply, Meghan…WOW!! Secondly, Moonlight Davis, Greg Alexander, Tim Hosmer, Frank Manzi, Bill Morey, Dan Whelton, Ray Zorin, Don Rovero, Cliff Schofer, you were all amazing, dazzling, flawless and just totally remarkable. Ben Ashley was as the lead, of Biddy Holly, absolutely astonishing with a take your breath away performance. The best I can say is everybody that can, go and see this immediately, it won’t be here long enough and it is not to be missed.See more..
Great Organ. Organist was world class. Full command of keys and petal. However the Wanamaker is a finer instrument, and of course it wasn’t Vergil Fox at the console. Friendly down to earth staff. The building is old but unique as mentioned, it won't be there forever, which makes me appreciate it all the more. I've been going there for a long time especially to see some of the non mainstream movies they often have.See more..

4.5Larcom Theatre(38 reviews) - Musical entertainment and live plays Spent 2-3 hours Theaters
Less than 24 miles from Boston, the fully restored Larcom Theatre is located in downtown Beverly, MA This gracious showplace featuring spectacular acoustics was built in 1912 (the same year as Fenway Park) by Harris and Glover Ware, two brothers and former vaudeville musicians from Marblehead, MA. For their new theatre, they chose the birth site of one of America's most widely read nineteenth-century poetesses, Lucy Larcom. After seven years of wowing audiences with his magic production at the 1920 Cabot Street Cinema Theatre (just 4 blocks away), Cesareo Pelaez, the founder of the Le Grand David stage magic ensemble, purchased the Larcom in 1984. Larcom's elegant horseshoe balcony, hand-painted antique pressed tin ceilings and original silk wall coverings take you back in time.
