Excellent Theater in an idyllic setting
The Williamstown Theater Festival is one of the most highly respected regional theater programs in the country - and for good reason. With two stages running simultaneously, the festival puts on a variety of plays each summer. Famous actors are drawn to Williamstown each summer - Gwyneth Paltrow has done numerous plays here and is now on the board of trustees. We were not familiar with the play we saw (Double Double), but it was a wonderful surprise. A thriller set in London that was both intriguing and very funny. The theater itself has recently been renovated and is a really special space in which to see a play. We were in the back row of the orchestra, but the theater is so intimate we could see every detail. The theater is quite modern now, with interesting details in light wood - very interesting architecturally. Though it was small, the set for the play was quite impressive and expensive looking. Definitely worth a visit -even a special trip to see a play here.

Disappointed with “Most Happy in Concert”
I’ve been to the WTF many times over many years, and this was the first real clunker of an experience. The setting, facility and stage are all magnificent. That has not changed. But this particular show was disappointing. It was interesting and provocative, but disjointed and strange for no obvious reason. The all women cast had magnificent voices, but the show was ill-conceived.
