While visiting the area on a Fall foliage New England trip we stopped by the National Shrine and spent time visiting the chapels, candle offertory and gift shop. The chapels and grounds are both beautiful and tranquil. We enjoyed our visit and worshippedl n the two beutiful chapels and bought several religious gifts for friends in the wonderful and very large giftshop. All staff were helpful and courteous during our visit. The grounds feature multiple statues depicting the crucifixion and full size stations of the cross personified in sculpture.See more..
I visit the Shrine few times during the year to attend the healing mass. I always spend no less than two to three hours between the service, walking around the beautiful grounds, checking the store, and praying and lighting a candle at the Chapel of Light. It is an important and meaningful pilgrimage for me, that brings me peace, joy, and healing from the life struggles. The place is beautiful, and it's surrounded by woods, so it's a restorative trip as you reconnect with God, our Spiritual Mother Mary, and nature. They hold the beautiful Festival of Lights every Christmas season. It's wonderful to walk around seeing the Christmas lights while having a cup of hot chocolate. I highly recommend visiting this place, and don't miss it on Christmas time. See more..
4.5Seamen's Bethel(164 reviews) - Quiet moment with history Monday: Historic Sites • Religious Sites
United First Parish Church (also known as The Church of the Presidents) has a rich history in both the social and religious community. The church was built in 1828 of local Quincy granite and is now designated as a National Historic Landmark. The Church is the fourth building for the 380 year-old First Parish Congregation, and is the burial place of presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams and their wives Abigail Adams and Louisa Catherine Adams.See more..
4.5The Guthrie Center & Foundation(79 reviews) - A highlight of our trip to the Berkshires! Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites
The epicenter of Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant." The events that took place on Thanksgiving 1965 became a song, the song became a record, the record a movie. The movie was filmed in 1968 where the actual events took place on location at The Old Trinity Church, which became The Guthrie Center founded by Arlo Guthrie, and named for his parents, Woody & Marjorie Guthrie in 1991. The Center continues the Guthrie Family philosophy of a place for interfaith worship, cultural exchange especially with music and art, and of course a place to eat (during seasonal performances). 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" and the old church will celebrate in style with services and performances that will put a smile on your face and nourish your heart.See more..

What a beautiful place to stop and just be! There is a so much to see if you take the time and are able to walk around, but if you can't or don't care to, there's much to see just sitting and/or taking a few steps. One doesn't have to be Catholic to enjoy and be at peace here. I would love to be able to attend Mass in the open air. The gift shop is delightful, full of many things that will catch the attention of non-Catholics as well. The woman who runs it is lovely and I enjoyed talking with her. She is a talented buyer! There is an exhibit in the back of the gift shop not to be missed. It is of Russian icons that were smuggled out of Russian homes once the Soviet regime made possessing them dangerous. Some are very old. This is definitely a place to remember, and if you are fortunate enough to be there on a beautiful fall day, you will be entranced.See more..

4.5Fatima shrine(19 reviews) - WHO LOVES THE BLESSED MOTHER? OR GODDESSES, IN GENERAL? Religious Sites
A really unique and interesting place to go and get some quiet time no matter what your religious affiliation. It looks nothing like the real Fatima in Portugal but it's still a wonderfully peaceful place to walk and connect with nature at the same time. We also really liked the gift shop.See more..

5.0Old Ship Church(14 reviews) - Time well spent. Monday: Religious Sites
Built in 1681, Old Ship served two purposes: as a Meeting House where civic issues of the day were discussed, and as a place of worship on Sundays. Lively debates over the Revolution, the form American Democracy would take, and local issues such as property taxes, have taken place under its distinctive timber roof. Architecturally, the Meeting House is an example of Elizabethan Gothic style found in the early settlers native Hingham, England. The great curved timbers that support the roof were cut from bowed oak limbs grown in local forest. Axe hewn, no two are exactly alike in dimension. Although it’s still a mystery, the name Old Ship may have been inspired by the unusual roof structure, which resembles the hull of a ship. We love giving tours, but we need 2 days notice to find a volunteer tour guide.See more..

4.5Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church(5 reviews) - It would have been a mistake if we had not gone... Religious Sites My husband, teenage daughter and I decided to go to a weekday Mass at this beautiful church named after the famous Black Madonna icon in Poland. Our expectations were exceeded in many ways. The church itself is traditionally beautiful, but with icons and Polish saints, it had the feel of an Orthodox church as well. For a mid-week Mass, it was well-attended, and not just with senior folks. The priest, Fr Di Mascola had energy, verve and was inspiring and to the point. He was assisted by 12 altar servers, ranging from elementary school kids, middle school and high school kids too. What a vibrant church this is!!! Recommend checking out when there will be a service (even for non-Catholics) and go! You will be visually and spiritually rewarded!See more..

I had been watching this temple through its construction for a few months. My first visit was strictly from the outside as I got there at the wrong time. When I returned, I was overjoyed to find out that I could roam the interior with camera in hand! I met one of the temple officers who was warm and friendly. I offered him some of the pictures that I shot. Being the largest Tai Temple outside of Thailand, it is a must see!!See more..

3.0Brandeis Hillel(1 review) - Pretty good Religious Sites If you are not a student, the deli is not an option. However, the student kosher dining area is nice. All the food you can eat for one price. The choices are large and the food is good. The rabbi supervising is ok, not the most accommodating or helpful person, but ok. See more..
