  1. 4.0 Wilson’s Department Store (5 reviews)
    - Unique Independent Department Store Near Great Restaurants and Amtrak Station
    Department Stores
Wilson’s Department Store is one of America’s oldest (1882) and last independent , family-owned, full line, department stores. Located at the corner of Main and Davis Streets, this store has survived the national trend for malls and big box stores outside of the Downtown by being customer oriented and technologically savvy. The store is located only steps from several great restaurants and a 1 min walk from Amtrak’s Greenfield Station, which on October 30, 2019, saw the addition of the four train, “Valley Flyer” service, bringing to a total of six trains per day to Greenfield, service not seen here in 52 years, half a century! On Saturdays, folks can even take a day trip from Springfield, Northampton, and Holyoke to see this icon department store and other Greenfield attractions. See more..
  2. 4.0 Middlesex Commons (3 reviews)
    - Great Shopping Experience
Spent 2-3 hours Speciality & Gift Shops • Department Stores • Shopping Malls
One thing I appreciated about this mall was that it was indoors and all on one floor. You'd be surprised how big this place was. Lots of stores and places to eat. I stopped at Nordstrom's The Rack and purchased a few items at a great bargain. My husband found a store that he liked and bought a couple of shirts. I even had my eyebrows threaded. The person did a nice job but I won't do that again. I would definitely go back there again if I'm in the area. See more..
  3. 5.0 Jordan’s Furniture (1 review)
    - The Enchanted Village at Jordan’s Furniture
    Department Stores
    Jordan’s Furniture image
The Enchanted Village is an animatronic display created by Jordan Marsh in 1958. It was displayed in their Downton crossing Boston location until 1972. Revived in the 90’s and early 2000’s- the display was auctioned and bought by Jordan’s Furniture which had it restored and displays it free of charge at their Avon, MA store each Christmas. The Christmas expiernce continues with a Polar Express “4S” ride, laser light show, games and an indoor skating rink. The other rides require tickets. Can be very busy on the weekends, it’s great for kids- expect to wait 10-30 minutes in line to get in. See more..
  4. 4.0 Market Basket (1 review)
    - Quick Stop At Market Basket
    Department Stores
We wanted to buy some grocery items for our stay, and chose the Market Basket. We felt they had a large variety of items and were able to find everything that we wanted. My wife enjoys shopping the "international" aisle where ever we go and she was not disappointed, finding some items that we don't normally have in our little neck of the woods back home. The staff at Market Basket seem to be working hard to adhere to local Covid regulations, including the washing and sanitizing of carts, shelves and the cashier area's. We did feel with all that being said, that some places looked like they could have used a little more attention, such as certain areas of the floor, but that could also be due to customer's actions or accidents on this particular day. Our cashier, Dayana, was pleasant and helpful. Glad we had a chance to shop here and would come back again. See more..
  5. 4.0 Hyman's / Pennyworth's (1 review)
    - SPECIALTY DEPARTMENT STORE HIDDEN FROM STREET VIEW
    Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Department Stores
    Hyman's / Pennyworth's image
Hyman’s / Pennyworth’s is somewhat hidden from Storey Avenue because it’s location in the North Shops section of the Port Plaza, and the side of Hyman’s store faces the road. It’s also concealed by the Chipotle Mexican Grill and the Ohana Kitchen that are out on Storey Avenue. So, you have to kind of know that it’s there. I happened upon it when coming from another section of the Port Plaza. Hyman’s offers a lot of footwear that includes everything from dress shoes to work shoes and boots, to school shoes, play shoes, and casual sandals. The store also carries scrubs, uniforms, plus regular and outdoor clothing. The store bills itself as offering famous brands at affordable prices. Some brands are Nike, New Balance, Crocs, Birkenstocks, Vans, Clarks, SAS, Carhartt, The North Face, Timberland, UGG, Stride Rite, and more. The everyday prices are only slight discounts off MSRP. The sales offer 15%, 20%, 35%, or more off. In the summer, there is the Yankee Homecoming Tent Sale on shoes for the whole family at this store and another location in the Lynngate Plaza in nearby Lynn, MA. That’s when the deep discounts happen. During my visit, I browsed the women's Patagonia and The North Face jackets. For the number of quality brands carried in footwear and clothing, I rate Hyman’s / Pennyworth’s at 4.50. The reason for the delay in submitting this review was due to a months-long loss of my ability to post photos with my reviews. If you found this review useful, please click HELPFUL. See more..
