4.0Pickering Wharf(535 reviews) - Much to do Marinas • Historic Walking Areas • Piers & Boardwalks
We actually went to Pickering Wharf several times during our stay. There are several restaurants to choose from, stores we bought teas and spices, tarot reading, crafts, a sailing experience and much more. I recommend that you check on line and book some of the fun things to do in advance so you don't miss anything!See more..
Wellfleet Bay offers five miles of walking trails that lead through a variety of unspoiled habitats, including salt marsh, beach, sandplain grasslands, pine woods, and a freshwater pond. The sanctuary is a great place to hike, commune with nature, and watch a sunset. Public programs include tidal flats explorations for adults and children, birding walks, turtle prowls (in season), and kayaking trips in nearby ponds, rivers, and marshes.See more..
4.5Minute Man Visitor Center(32 reviews) - Stop here first when visiting the historical park Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Historic Walking Areas • Battlefields
Make this Visitors’ Center your first stop before going to the sites in the Minute Man National Historical Park. The displays and movie provide a great introduction. Yes, you should definitely watch the film. It is informative and entertaining (actually much better than many other films we’ve seen at visitor centers). Wear walking shoes because if it is a nice day you will want to walk the trails. Sadly, it was pouring rain on the day we visited, but we still had a great time and learned a lot. See more..

4.5Altar Rock(26 reviews) - One of the best hike Historic Walking Areas
One of the hikes with different vista, broad and wide, and different color in landscape. It's unusual on an lsland in Masachussetts. If you walk, it's fine. You can decide which trail you want to do for different length. It's also possible to drive. However, be aware that you need to have a good height clearance, since some part of the trails are bumpy and the wheel track are quite low beneath the ground.See more..
4.5Leyden Street, Plymouth Ma(22 reviews) - Walk or drive it, but do it. Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Historic Walking Areas
The fact that when you are on this street you realize that this is the first street in the US and you are truly walking where the Pilgrims walked. It's hard to not see this if you are in Plymouth as it is kind of in the middle of the historic area. Close by to many, many things and you will walk it if you take the Ghost Tour. We drove and walked it. Make sure you look at the signs on the houses that tell you who lived there. A must.See more..

5.0Athol History Trail(1 review) - Great little driving trail, SCENIC! Historic Walking Areas Not a walking trail, more of a self guided driving trail. Scalped by Indians? Yes, that happened here! Athol has a rich history and although now struggles, was was a booming town during the industrial revolution until the Great Hurricane of 1938 demolished the town with widespread damage and flooding, Unfortunately it seems Athol as been unable to rise up to it's former glory. Often under-rated, it is a nature lovers paradise and filled with history. The history trail takes you through several sections of town and while some of the sites are no longer there or houses are built upon the sites, it is a scenic and enjoyable ride. Perfect for a fall foliage trip or summer cruise and while your there, visit the downtown businesses, town beaches and local crafters. Lots of hidden gems here!See more..
