Gem of a Museum
There is something for everyone at this Museum - Fine Art to common tools. You can learn all about the history of ship building, whaling, saltworks, ice cutting, farming, carpentry, weaving and much more. Great place for all ages. This summer they had a special exhibit about the history of summer recreation in the area. They also had a small exhibit of WWI artifacts. The offer programs and lectures year round. You must visit!!

great local museum
this used to be called the Mattapoisett historical society, now the Mattapoisett Museum...it is a small but fascinating museum of local history....They have many artifacts from whaling days and shipbuilding which Mattapoisett was famous for...I highly recommend you visit this small museum if in the area.
