Favorite in Scituate for sandy beach
Scituate has 3 types of beaches. Rocky (Egypt, Humarock), low tide beaches (Minot,Sand Hills) and Peggotty. Peggotty does shrink during high tide and is a little bit of a slope. But it has sand and parking for more cars. Need a beach pass. Has a portable potty and a sand rinse station. Calm water and you can usually find a spot. I have heard Humarock can be sandy but each time I went it was covered with rocks. Peggotty is a safe choice for sand and a place to park.

Good beach, but not for out-of towners
Sandy with good waves. Safe beach for children. Unfortunately, there is no parking in the beach parking lot without a town beach sticker, which means a fairly long walk from town parking. No bathhouse or concessions. Port-a-potty.
