This is the best collection of memorabilia I have ever seen dedicated to one band. This along with the fact it is expertly displayed in the house the band shared and still allows you to get a feel of the actual house itself. If you are a casual fan or just a music fan you could do this museum in an hour or so but if you are a real fan leave yourself much more time as this collection includes everything and the amount of personal and family pics in the house is incredible. The staff is equally impressive and let us know they will be expanding in the future as only half the items they own are on display!See more..

This is a very neat and interesting museum in a very historical house. It’s a bit difficult to find at first because there’s only one sign and the home/museum is surrounded by a black metal gate and you actually need to pull into the Hilton parking lot next-door to park and then walk in through the gates to the museum itself. The cost is about seven dollars per person to view the museum on a self-guided tour. There’s four rooms plus a beautiful garden area in the back that you can go see. Lots of original Gone With The Wind movie items including an original dress from the movie and lots of other things. On the wall in the hallway is a very cool three frames of autographs from all the cast members and directors and crew from the movie. Make sure to walk through the gardens after you visit the house, they’re beautiful. Free parking next-door at the Hilton. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. The house alone is a must see due its historical significance.See more..

My husband bought me the whole set of Foxfire books when we first married. It had been a dream of mine to visit the museum. We finally got to go and what a treat! I loved that it was a hike through the woods to each stop. This is not handicap friendly, so keep that in mind if coming here. The history is so unique. We went on a rainy, foggy day and it made for a beautiful walk. We saw weavers demonstrating their skill in the Tiger cabin. Overall, a great place! I would recommend stopping by.See more..

We went here today for an appearance by NASCAR driver Chase Elliot. Chase is an up and coming championship contender who was here for the upcoming AMS race. It was an autograph session which in my opinion didn’t go so well. There was provably 2-3 hundred people and time allocated for autographs was maybe an hour or so. People who bought tickets to the upcoming Atlanta race were given priority over general admission. Needless to say we did get autographs but no problem we’ll see him at the shop this summer. Got to see him and the unveiling of the new pace car which was nice. Come visit the museum, it’s filled with history of racing from Bill Elliot, father of Chase. And a lot more. Worth a visit for all you racing fans.See more..

We visited the Christmas Train ride at the park tonight (Thursday) and loved it. Our 2 year old daughter wanted to ride again. It is not an extravagant set up or high end type deal, but for a local park they do a bang up job. Blankets in the train seats to keep you warm, very friendly folks running the place, and they even have Frosty and Rudolf in costume to great visitors as well as Santa. I would recommend this to anyone. Cheap night out with the family.See more..
4.5Old Car City(71 reviews) - What a Great Museum Thursday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Speciality Museums
This fascinating place started out years ago as an auto salvage yard, 1931 to be exact. It operated in this way for a number of years. As the facility aged, so did all the automobiles and trucks that had been brought in. They are now rusted in beautiful colors; they have broken windows that catch the light beautifully; they are stacked, upended, and buried in a quagmire of bushes. Vehicles from 1972 and older are all there. There are over 4,500 vehicles dated from 1972 and older that are scattered through the venue with 6 1/2 miles of trails that are kept cut. If the Smithsonian saw this place, they would adopt it. It quit being a salvage yard a number of years ago and is now a museum of sorts, and a haven for photographers. The entrance fee is $15 if you bring a camera and $10 if you don't. They are only open Wednesday thru Friday from 9 to 4 and Saturday from 9 to 1.See more..
