It is a quant little place to visit. If you are looking for a sophisticated place, you'll be disappointed. However, the folks there are friendly. It is a very enjoyable place to walk around and visit with a variety of animals. They are a joy to feed too, especially the bison who will stick its tongue out for you to put food on it. It's not a fancy place, but that is not what we were looking for. It makes for a nice time. See more..

  11. 5.0 Wild Georgia Safari Park (1 review)
    - Hidden gem on the way from Savannah to Atlanta
    Zoos
I went to the petting zoo. For $5 entry and $1 animal feed, I saw the largest Solkata tortoises I've seen in my life. They were hibernating. I got up close with an emu, several adorable baby goats, two llamas. I was scared to hand feed the emu so I left a handful on a post. The larger animals intimidated the smaller ones, so I threw several handfuls to scatter and distract, so that I could pet some babies through the fence! The animals choke themselves on the wood slats with excitement to get feed from you. The tortoises are massive- they must take good care of their animals to have gotten two to this size. Tortoises are difficult to maintain, from my experience. All of the animals looked healthy, although one of the tortoises was tearing up quite a lot (which can be normal). T I had a smoked sausage sandwich from their gas station and bought some pickled quail eggs and pecan sandies. There's a picnic table next to the animal area so you can eat "with" them. Everyone was really kind and friendly. Hidden gem! See more..
  12. 5.0 The Art Barn At Morning Glory Farm (1 review)
    - Must Do in Northern Georgia
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Zoos
This was a must do on our trip to Lake Lanier. We were about an hour away from the Art Barn, so I was a bit nervous about the travel time. My 5 year old daughter listed this as her favorite activity of our jam-packed ten day vacation! Farmer Sue and Farmer Katherine were A+ as tour guides of the farm. They were exactly the type of people you would want leading a family tour -- they showed my kids new and interesting things while also listening to what my kids were interested in doing that day. There was cold weather the day that we were there, so they also mixed in some outdoor and indoor activities. My only suggestion to them is to increase your online presence on TripAdvisor so more people will be able to find you and book a Farmer for a Day experience!!!! See more..
