4.5Columbus Riverwalk(1.086 reviews) - Nice trail Bodies of Water • Historic Walking Areas
From Phenix City rode bikes across the pedestrian bridge to the trail, can go left and travel all the way to Ft Benning, can turn right and follow the river to the end of the path about 2.5-3 miles nice ride. On both side of the trail you are riding along the river. When you start heading over to Ft Benning you are away from the river. There is a Zip line that crosses the river if you wanted to try that. The river walk gets crowded on the weekends not bad during the week. Also when you cross the pedestrian bridge you can also catch the Dragonfly trail ( Fall Line Trace Trail) , This trail has 17 street crossing in the first 3 miles then one about every 1/2 mile after that.See more..
This may be the most popular thing to do in Helen! Cool River tubing offers two tubing lengths so you can decide how long you want to be on the river. There was a lot of rain the week we stayed, making the river rise. My family said lots of people flipped and my Dad actually fell off of his tube, losing his stick and hit his head on a rock. Definitely recommend the stick rental because many people get stuck on rocks. Tether with your group members because you easily and quickly get separated on the river. Lots of fun for the young and old. Lower water levels would probably have made for a less intense ride. See more..
My son and I experienced the Chattahoochee River by tubing through NOC in Roswell. It started in Don White Memorial Park and ended at Azalea Park. Tubes and life jackets are provided and a shuttle takes you back to your car. Great way to see the river and the process could not have been easier.See more..

4.5Coots Lake(20 reviews) - Coots Lake Beach Bodies of Water
I made several trips to Coots Lake Beach this summer with my 10 year old twins. Even though our neighborhood has a pool my kids much prefer the beach at Coots Lake. The dock for jumping into the water, the sand volleyball court, the picnic areas, and the concession stand make for a wonderful day. We pack a big lunch and stay all day.See more..
We loved this place but make sure to go in the AM or early evening to avoid the people if you are socially distancing. We had such a great time. Be prepared to hike about .5 mile to the slide rock...up hill. Worth it! See more..

4.5Leone Hall Price Park(12 reviews) - Nature Walk through Park Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails This park is great for walks or runs mostly through the woods and along a creek. Formerly an old family farm, donated to Cobb County and cared for by a co-op of volunteers and Eagle Scout projects, this park is a nice break from the traditional park such as Swift Cantrell. We love both parks, but when we want to take a more leisurely walk with our dog through a shaded park, we choose Leone Hall Price Park. Throughout the park they have numerous picnic tables and benches, mowed wide paths across the fields, wild flowers, paths through the woods, and shade trees for hanging an eno hammock. It is always very quiet and peaceful.See more..
3.5Little River Park(11 reviews) - Great location! Spent More than 3 hours Marinas • Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas
My family camped here - very clean, lots of boat slips. They have a playground, some cabins, a little beach, a store and an ice maker. Very well maintained campground. the only bummer is that all the lakefront spots belong to permanent residents, which I get. They are guaranteed money, but it would have been nice to have one for the weekend! we went out on the lake and caught over 20+ small fish. They also have fishing tournaments almost every weekend which was fun to see in person.See more..
4.5Walker's Pond(9 reviews) - The best little pond! Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water
I love this quiet treasure nestled on the north side of our great city. The geese, ducks and one or two Hawks are my favorites. Fishing isn' the best if you're a serious angler. I do pray that the city of Warner Robins restock this pond. Great place to bring family and just chill out. Very relaxing if you need a little space to gather your thoughts or read a book. God bless!See more..
4.5Lake Allatoona(7 reviews) - Summer Fun! Bodies of Water
I grew up in Canton as a child and spent almost every summer on Lake Allatoona. While I currently live in South Florida and enjoy the beach, there is just something special about being out on the lake in the summertime. This year when visiting friends, our family was fortunate enough to go out on our friends' boat and go tubing. For us Floridians, swimming in a lake that is alligator free is rare. Our daughter had the best time tubing, and I encourage anyone staying in the area to check it out!See more..
My wife and I visited in September 2021 and only saw one man fishing with his grandson. These ponds are beautiful and peacefully quiet because of their remoteness. If you need a place to meditate or to take a private picnic, this is a lovely choice.See more..

4.0Carters Lake(2 reviews) - Discovered Great Hiking Trail! Bodies of Water
Drove around the entire lake, which was nice, but we loved the Tumbling Waters Trail on the north side of the lake, just west of Ellijay. It was a fairly easy 1-mile hike to a bridge and then an overlook just above the bridge that apparently has a waterfalls. We weren't sure how much further it was and didn't want to go too far but later found out that it wasn't very far at all. Pictures show it would certainly have been worth the extra short hike to the overlook. Sorry we turned around and went back once we got to the bridge. Will definitely do that hike again so we can see the waterfalls the next time!See more..

The agent on duty took my call and told us how to get to the office and was so super nice. We could have gone two ways but drove on top of the Dam to get to the office. The place was beautiful. We saw people fishing and having fun, There were camping facilities and bike riding. We only went to the project office but it's a mini museum telling about the area, plants animals and the Dam. 4.0Jackson Lake(1 review) - Great lake, but over crowded. Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water We live on the lake. There should have been a horsepower limit established long ago, but no; there are dozens of obnoxiously loud, wave producing boats trying to out do each other, oblivious to other boats and the no wake and 100 foot rules. We won't go out on the weekends or holidays unless we have friends over who can only go then, it gets so crowded and noisy, with ocean-like waves. Those who don't live on the lake (and some who do) couldn't care less about common courtesy or navigation rules. And last, there are only two places to eat on the lake; one is only open on weekends and the other has a terrible reputation for poor service and management. Nevertheless, on weekdays, before 5 PM, Jackson Lake is the perfect lake on which to live, fish, play, relax, etc.See more..

Visited Mulberry Riverwalk today. The trail begins from a small gravel parking lot. This 4.4 mile out & back natural terrain trail is mostly level and is good for all skill levels. It features some nice shoals and a waterfall. The trail is sandwiched between the Mulberry & the back of a subdivision as it meanders along through the woods. It is great for walking, running, bicycling or nature watching. Moderately trafficked (Encountered only 4 people while I was there today). Open daily sunrise to sunset. Limited parking. No restrooms. Dog friendly.See more..
