We stayed in Hiram and biked south to Smyrna the first day - about 40 miles round trip. The next day we rode north around 15 miles. The trail is well marked with signage including mileage, food and places of interest. In addition, there are security cameras on parts of the trail. Finally, many trailheads include rest areas. If you enjoy biking or running this is a great trail. We would definitely recommend. See more..

Its a wonderful place. You can have a pleasant walk here and feel like you are in woods even though you are in middle of city. Well maintained and its quite a place if u wanted a very long walk. Other than lack of huge parking space I feel it is very well maintained and good place to jog or cycle. See more..

Rented a bicycle using Zagster and took a leisurely ride on Noonday Creek Trail. We parked our car at the Bells Ferry parking lot and rode over to just past I75. The trail has a few inclines but nothing requiring real stamina. Beautiful trail with trees! Zagster is free if the bike is returned within an hour! See more..

    Little River Trail image
I went to this park looking for some peaceful hiking on a rainy day and I found it at Olde Rope Mill Park. There are several names associated with this park due to it's variety of uses. Trestle Rock is the name of the Hiking Trail, Little River is the name of the water and bridge and Olde Mille Park is the name of the picnicing and don't forget the name of the biking trail is Avalanche so go figure anyone could find this place. So pack up a lunch, load up your mountain bikes, bring a fishing pole and put on the hiking boots cause there is a lot to see and do here. I photographed on this wet and rainy day and could not have been happier. Miles in the woods for hikers and bikers. See more..
  9. 5.0 Eastside Trail (15 reviews)
    - Safe, Scenic & Well Maintained Trail
Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails • Jogging Paths & Tracks
    Eastside Trail image
Running 2.5 miles from downtown Covington to Eastside Highschool, the Eastside Trail is Newton County's newest multi-use greenway trail. Opened in early 2013, the 10-foot-wide concrete path begins off Ramsey Drive in Covington, just west of the Newton County Public Library. The first .6 miles meander through a woodland area behind the library and the Newton County Health Center. After winding gently though the woods over rolling terrain, the trail drops down to cross Martin St at the intersection with Hazelbrand Rd. The trail features four wooden boardwalk sections that traverse forest wetlands and a tunnel beneath the Covington Bypass Rd that allows pedestrians and cyclists to pass safely beneath the traffic overhead. On the east side of the bypass, the trail continues east and then runs between pasture land and woods south to the high school. At the northern endpoint parking is available behind the Newton County Health Center (8203 Hazelbrand Rd NE, Covington, GA 30014). Visitors walk through Chimney Park to access the Eastside Trail. At the southern endpoint visitors can park at Eastside High School (10245 Eagle Drive, Covington, GA 30014) when school is not in session. See more..

    Camp Creek Greenway Trail image
Walked the 4.2 mile trail on Monday. This paved trail winds through the woods alongside Camp Creek & the CSX railroad tracks. I walked the spur trail from Killian Hill Road to Lilburn City Park (located in Old Town Lilburn) & then on to Lions Club Park. Most of the trail is shaded which really helps during the summer months. Along the way there are boardwalks & bridges as well as picnic tables and strategically placed park benches. There are restrooms & plenty of parking at Lilburn City Park. Safe and well maintained. Open sunrise to sunset. See more..

You can take the Fall Line Trace all the way from the Riverwalk in downtown Columbus up past Flat Rock Park near Midland. The ride is on an old train tracks so is nice and flat without any taxing uphill peddling. If your bike is up to it, the Line runs directly beside Flat Rock Park and you can utilize the bike trails in the park (which has no paid entry). This is a great way to get to know Columbus! - A wonderful day at Azalea Park

    Azalea Park image
My husband and I are new to the area and enjoy exploring the many parks we are lucky to have. Our neighbor recommended this park and I am really glad he did. We went on a Sunday, so it was pretty busy. We were lucky enough to find parking in one of the lots, but it took awhile. We packed a picnic and wanted to find a place away from others. We did find a place not far from the river and tucked behind a building so it was perfect. We really enjoy our picnic and then we decided to take a walk and really enjoyed the walking area at the park as well. It was fun to see people kayaking and tubing down the river. We will definitely visit this park again, it was a wonderful day. See more..

  15. 4.5 Harbins Park (8 reviews)
    - Great place to Mountain Bike & more
Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Equestrian Trails • Hiking Trails
    Harbins Park image
If you enjoy mountain biking, Harbins Park is a great destination. With around 15 total miles of trails, you can get a great ride in, or if you just want a quick ride, the trails are broken up into several shorter loops. Most of the MTB trail system is singletrack, with some sections great for beginners, and some with nice climbs and fast descents. There isn't anything there that a moderately skilled rider can't handle. A couple of creek crossings will lead to a great downhill run with dirt berms and jumps. The park also offers paved trails for recreation, playgrounds, hiking and horseback trails, and various ball fields. Gwinnett County outdid themselves on this park. It is worth a drive! See more..

  18. 5.0 Mountain to River Trail (3 reviews)
    - A Fun and Historical Walk or Ride
    Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails
    Mountain to River Trail image
This mixed use trail gets mostly walkers through the downtown area of Marietta, then bike riders elsewhere. For visitors, it's an easy walk along the trail to/from downtown, Marietta Square and the nearby Confederate Cemetery and Gone With the Wind Museum -- but not in the heat and humidity of a Georgia summer. A plethora of coffee, ice cream and snack shops are located just off the trail Marietta Square. And the new Marietta Square Market and food hall expands that greatly. I did a full write-up for cyclists on my blog for those who want to check out the biking options away from downtown. See more..
  19. 4.5 Peachtree Creek Greenway (2 reviews)
    - What a treat!
    Biking Trails
    Peachtree Creek Greenway image
We took our daughter and her bike here for a great walk/ride. The parking is easy and ample and the trail is very well done (it’s a nice wide sidewalk along Peachtree Creek). There are benches along the way as well as doggie “stations” with poop bags and trash cans. We went in the middle of the day and it was quite busy and felt very safe (though not crowded like the Beltline can be). It was surprisingly scenic! There are lights as well, if you want to use the trail after dark. See more..
  20. 5.0 Raisin Woods Mountain Bike Park (2 reviews)
    - nice trail system for biking and running
Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
I used to road bike but am relatively new to mountain biking. I went with a friend last year to the Raisin Woods Bike Park. It has a lot of trail options from beginner to advanced. You can walk or run, or bike. They have a nice map at the gate, and plenty of free parking. Great bike park for the area. See more..
  21. 2.5 Mount Rachel Hiking and Biking Trail (2 reviews)
    - Nice Hike, but maintenance was not impressive.
Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
I enjoyed hiking locally with a friend. We saw Dalton from a new perspective and took pictures to remember our experience. Although there were trash cans, there was trash. I wish there was recycling bins so people can or would be encouraged to recycle. See more..
  22. 5.0 Big Creek Park (2 reviews)
    - Enjoy wide paved pathways covered with great greenery in Alpharetta's portion of this park
Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
    Big Creek Park image
Big Creek Park is a fantastic place to amble, hike, bike ride or just sit and enjoy nature's bounty in terms of variety and vastness of flora and fauna along the trails. You can enter the park from several locations: The two closest to us are off of Old Alabama Rd. and Haynes Bridge Road, both with plenty of parking. It seems like it's 10-20 degrees cooler along this beltway of connected trails and places for a variety of activities. We love coming here to get away from it all and to lose ourselves listening to the chirping of birds and other animals. If you're lucky, you'll even get to see a deer darting across your path as it moves thru the forested areas in the park. Go; you'll enjoy your visit. See more..

    - Good Spot For A Morning Walk
Bodies of Water • Biking Trails • Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Mulberry Riverwalk image
Visited Mulberry Riverwalk today. The trail begins from a small gravel parking lot. This 4.4 mile out & back natural terrain trail is mostly level and is good for all skill levels. It features some nice shoals and a waterfall. The trail is sandwiched between the Mulberry & the back of a subdivision as it meanders along through the woods. It is great for walking, running, bicycling or nature watching. Moderately trafficked (Encountered only 4 people while I was there today). Open daily sunrise to sunset. Limited parking. No restrooms. Dog friendly. See more..
