5.0The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church(29 reviews) - My retreat Thursday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
Formally organized in 1810 and is a monument to one of Georgia's earliest Catholic communities. The current building was consecrated in 1863 at the height of the Civil War and is the oldest surviving Catholic Church building in Georgia. The building is an impressive example of Romanesque Revival in 19th century church architecture. Daily Mass is Monday, Wednesday - Friday at 12:15pm; Tuesday Communion Service at 12:15pm. Sunday Masses: Saturday at 5pm, Sunday at 8am, 10:30pm & 12:30pm. Church open Monday, Wednesday-Friday from 10am-2pm and Tuesdays 10am-1pm.See more..

5.0The Chapel of Santa Claus(8 reviews) - Beautiful gardens and chapel Spent < 1 hour Churches & Cathedrals

After searching and calling many churches and other wedding venues, the Seney-Stovall Chapel was one of the best locations for the price I found in getting married in Athens. For $625, you got 4 hours on Friday and 5 hours on Sunday. I was stunned that some churches wanted more than $900 for a 30 minute ceremony in their chapel. The UGA staff there were very helpful and the huge windows allowed a lot of natural light for a midday wedding. The white Carl Vinson Institute building next door has a historic porch with iron railing that provided gorgeous backgrounds for our wedding pictures as well as the magnolia trees on the property. The theatre-like seating allowed every guest to have a great view of our wedding.See more..
This is a lovely historical church established in 1750 by the church of England with a small burial ground in back (there have been 5 Episcopal churches on this site). It's also adjacent to the riverwalk but please don't park in the church parking lot if you only plan to do the riverwalk. As you stroll the burial ground (please do not take rubbings of the headstones) you will find the grave of a signer of the constitution, governors, confederate generals of the Civil War, and other important people to Augusta. The inside of the church is lovely. While we were there the organ player was practicing songs and the music was amazing. If you are already doing the riverwalk I recommend taking a quick look at the church.See more..

5.0House of Scripture(2 reviews) - This is a fellowship that really cares Thursday: Spent 1-2 hours Churches & Cathedrals I have never walked into a fellowship, especially Sabbath-Keeping, with so much love as this group. The group often contributes to the poor and the disadvanged. For example, they recently helped another local church distribute food to the poor during thanksgiving holidays. They are currently looking for other ways to serve. I was recently hospitalized and was even visited by the pastor and I am not even a member! Another member sent an email to check up on me. Both the pastor and its members really do show the love of the Father.See more..

I visited here after working in the area. I arrived just after a service. The parishioners and Father Herman stayed and spoke for a while. The church and surrounding grounds are tranquil which is helpful if you want a place to worship and or pray. I'd recommend they put a calendar on their web site so people can know when the services are.See more..
5.0Stockbridge First Baptist Church(1 review) - Great church in north Henry County Georgia Thursday: Spent 2-3 hours Churches & Cathedrals
We visited twice and joined this loving church family. The people here really care for each other and the pastor leads them in that direction. For the past two years, the senior pastor has been Rev. Emmanuel Ofori-Atta, an African-born prince from Ghana and the first black pastor at First Baptist Church of Stockbridge. He is a true man of God and preaches the Bible like nobody I've ever heard. The church has Sunday School and worship on Sunday mornings, a "relaxed" worship service on Sunday nights, Bible Study & Prayer Time on Wednesday nights, and many other activities going through the week for children and youth. We've found a new church home!See more..

4.0Hapeville First Baptist Church(1 review) - Beautiful Service Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites • Scenic Walking Areas • Churches & Cathedrals I am not very religious, but the Hapeville First Baptist Church is such a strong-knit community. The people are so nice and the services have always been very insightful. They welcome anyone who needs a place to worship and it is located in the city center. The Jess Lucas park around is absolutely beautiful and historic. The town is also located by the original Chick-Fil-A which is also a sight to see while in Hapeville. Chapman's Drugstore has awesome limeade and limeade sours. The Buttersweet Bakery across the street is also worth the walk around town!See more..
I visited Saint Mary’s Church for my name day as they were having a Divine Liturgy. The service book had both English and Romanian and was easily followed for a non-Romanian speaker. The service was nice and Fr. Nicolae was nice enough to add some prayers in English throughout the Liturgy to ensure I didn’t get lost. The quality chanting enhanced the atmosphere to be conducive of prayer. After the service I was able to meet with the parishioners for some quality fellowship time. It was well worth the trip from the opposite side of Atlanta.See more..
